If you are not familiar with Kristine Mason, let me introduce you. She is one of my favorite romance and thriller writers and this is her latest, Stab at Love, a contribution to a series of romantic short stories..
MY REVIEW
OMG! I adored this twisted story of murder and love. The aura of menace oozed off the pages leaving me wondering about the ending, which got me good.
From the first paragraph, Kristine Mason had me chuckling as I read along. She has a way of taking a serial killer and twisting him into an even more despicable person.
Ivy, I love her and relate to her. She has a potty mouth and hangs with men. Women are too much work. That is another thing about Kristine and her work. It seems to hit all the right buttons for me, making it easy to become enamored by the characters, good and bad.
I love her response to the women who thought she was crazy for bidding on a weekend at a haunted house with the bachelor, Ash. She liked being scared and walking on the wild side, so she ignored her intuition telling her to beware.
Hmmm, I am picking up a strange vibe and I can hardly wait to see if Kristine has as twisted an imagination as I hope…but I know from reading her past books, she does. LOL
Ash has instincts of his own, and also chooses to ignore them. Who should be afraid of who?
I had a huge grin plastered over my face through most of this novella, or short story, whatever you wish to call it. I had a feeling I knew where the story was going and could hardly wait to get there and see if I was right.
Hot, steamy sexual situations, always with a hint of danger.
Kristine Mason is one of the most amazing thriller writers I have had the pleasure to read. Every time I hear of a new book from her, I HAVE to have it and Stab at Love is no exception.
I voluntarily read a free copy of Stab at Love by Kristine Mason.

AMAZON SYNOPSIS
Local newspaper reporter, Nadine Marx, has been put in charge of this year’s charity fundraiser. The Bid on Love Bachelor Auction gives bidders the chance to spend the weekend with some of the hottest, single guys around. Which lucky women will win the date of their dreams? Or will some of these dates become a nightmare?
Sex, murder and photography were Ashton Wolfe’s passions. When he’s asked to participate in a bachelor auction for a local charity, he jumps at the opportunity and offers to take his date to Abernathy Manor, a haunted mansion in Williamsburg, Virginia. It’s been months since he’s watched the life drain from a woman’s eyes and he plans to make the winning bidder his next victim. Why not do it surrounded by ghosts?
Because Ivy Ellis hasn’t had the best luck with men, butterflies haven’t infused her belly for more than two years. Until she meets Bachelor Number Six’s intense gaze during the charity auction. Most women might think it creepy to have a man stare at them as if they were his prey. But there’s something in the bachelor’s eyes that calls to her. She can’t put her finger on what it is, but knows she has to be the highest bidder to discover what lies beneath the man in the mask.
As she and Ash spend a passionate weekend together, Ivy believes she’s found her soulmate. Meanwhile, Ash struggles with dark emotions. The killer hadn’t planned on falling for his victim, and now he doesn’t know what to do with Ivy. Keep her or kill her?

Thanks Laura. I have to read her stuff as soon as I get my hands on it. 🙂
Laura, I hope she doesn’t remind you of Sherry! You’ll know why if you read STAB lol Whenever you’re looking for a book to review, just reach out to me! 😀
Laura knows my deep, dark secrets. lol
This sounds totally like my kind of book! Can it be read as a standalone or will be hopelessly confused?
Yes. All her books can stand alone. I think that is why I became one of her biggest fans. Hope you take a chance on it.
Sherry is right! You don’t have to read the others to get my novella. And I do try to make it so you can jump in the middle of any of my trilogies without being totally lost. Thanks for checking out my novella!
I love that simple and yet sinister cover!
Yep. To me simplicity speaks best, but it must be good content. It gives a hint of what’s inside.
Thank you, Chrys! I loved how the cover artist took a simple picture and made it deliciously twisted 😀
Love the cover and I must admit you have me quite curious about the storyline.
Glad to hear it. It’s a quick, yet intense read. I think you would love it.

Sherry, thank you for posting your review! This was one of those stories that almost wrote itself. As you know, I love being able to be twisted without going to prison or ending up in divorce court lol. Thanks again!
LOL!!! That’s why I look forward to each and every story!!!! Always a pleasure.
Wow Sherry! Looks like this had everything you love!
