He liked to go the park and watch the little girls. That is when he saw her. She was the one who would help launch his business venture, Whitfield’s Little Angels. It was so easy. They always believed him. She was twelve years old and so sweet and innocent. That was 13 years ago.

Now. Erin Prescott was only 15. She was sneaking to the mall after school to meet up with Jason Avery.

The rain would help disguise his blitz attack.

Josh Ander was CEO and founder of Ander All Games, the front man. Todd was the programmer, the brains of the company, but he liked to stay low profile. Josh treated his employees to Friday nights out at the local hangout, Gulls. It was like patting a dog for a job well done and in return they would work harder to please him. When he walked in, the guys were talking about a wolf being seen in the city. Sure.

Melanie had been stalking Josh, but when she followed him into the men’s room to suggest a quickie, it was the last straw. He had made a mistake by sleeping with her once and now she thought he really wanted her. He slipped out the back way, just going for a breath of fresh air and to regroup. He lost track of where he was, until he found himself surrounded by four men, one with a knife. He didn’t care about the cash or the watch, but his wife had died and he wasn’t going to give up his wedding ring.

All of a sudden, she appeared, as if from thin air, like a goddess fromArtemis the Goddess Pictures, Images and Photos one of his video games. He saw a warrior with a light saber. She was all over them, using her night stick, her hands, her feet, karate kicking them until they went down. While they were down, she gave each one of them a few more kicks and hits to make sure they stayed there.

When he asked her name she told him, Skye Cree.  She wanted to take him to the hospital because he had been stabbed. Instead, he convinced her to take him home.

“She had been on the hunt and now it seemed she had to babysit a helpless, wasted schmuck.”

She got him home and played doctor, patching him up. Was there anything she couldn’t do, he wondered? After she patched him up, she left him, passed out.

She’d lost his trail. She knew she would never be finished, that there would always be another.

As she looked into the fog, she came face to face with a wolf – its eyes as violet as her own. It would take Kiya to help her find the bones of others.

5 STARS – Would Buy It For Them (lol)

Who is she? Why is she here? What is she hunting?  And that was only the first chapter.

I love love love it. Paranormal, romance, crime. A gorgeous hunk of man and a woman superhero, with the monster next door thrown in.

I love the cover. Vickie’s book covers seem to speak to me, making me want to read the book before I even find out what it is about. Her writing is amazing and her stories are so easy to read that I begin to live and breathe with her characters.

The plot is so well-developed that I am drawn from page to page and chapter to chapter, not wanting to stop for anything. Just wanting to find out what was going  to happen next.

Skye – I love that the main character is a female warrior, with her Nez Perce Indian heritage, it made the warrior image even more appropriate. Instead of the sword and shield, she had Karate and a night stick. No nine to five job for her. She had a mission and a purpose that drove her to accomplish the amazing things she did. I love strong female characters in novels, because I feel I could never be that person, but I want to have the opportunity to feel the things she feels and do the things she does and through words I am able to do that. Vickie is so good at drawing me in and making me feel a part of the story.

Josh – A rich, handsome, sexy man who is not stuck on himself. What’s not to love? Accepting of her being the strong one, but still knowing how to bring his assets to the table. I love that the main male character wanted to help her with her mission and went about making it possible for her to continue to do so without expecting or wanting anything from her, other than herself.

Vickie’s characters are so intriguing, that you wish you knew them, that they were your friends. How interesting life would be if they were. They could be your everyday person next door, who gets up and goes to work at their day job. I love the way Vickie depicts her women – no weak, sniveling, crying. whining femme fatale’s for her.

I wanted to read it cover to cover, non-stop, but my eyes grew heavy and the words began to blur. I didn’t want to miss a word of it, so I slowly closed the Kindle and called it a night.

Vickie’s books are chock full of love and romance, adventure and thrills. Heart stopping and heart warming. I can’t help but think that at least one of her books is bound to become that mega-hit movie you are waiting for

I received this book from the author, in return for an honest and unbiased review.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Vickie McKeehan   Vickie is the author of six novels, including The Evil Trilogy and the Pelican Pointe series. She’s a hardcore lover of books who grew up listening to her mother tell fascinating stories about ghosts and other tales full of characters she wasn’t sure ever really existed.

A self-proclaimed beachgoer and ocean-lover, she lives in Southern California with the love of her life. When she isn’t working on her next manuscript or screenplay, she loves to be outdoors.

In her spare time she tries to grow things which other people commonly refer to as gardening. She loves reading all kinds of books, both fiction and non-fiction, loves to play video games, and enjoys watching football with the hubby. If you’ve ever read any of her books, you know she’s a die-hard Raider fan, which means she has the patience of Job.

She lives for chocolate, but then who doesn’t? She’ll kill for a cup of coffee in the morning. She’s convinced the best food on earth is French fries. And she could easily be a vegetarian if it wasn’t for bacon.

  1. I want to believe in it! Sure would be nice to know a superhero was out there!

    I see a tree!

    • Thanks Laura. I want to wish you a lot of luck in the Giveaway. Vickie is such an awesome writer that I get totally lost in her books. Her covers do speak to me. lol

    • Awesome. I think you will love this book. It blew me away and there aren’t that many books that do that to me. Have you checked out her Evil Trilogy? Those were awesome too and more kick ass women. Never enough of those out there.

  2. I sure do believe in supernatural/paranormal. As for Heros I’m sure their may be some out their but i dont think their looking out for me. Yes ive had visions.
As for the book and reading Sherry’s review it was awesome. The book sounds awesome. Theseare my fav. Kinda books. Seems like a ‘I can’t put down book once you start reading’ . The characters sound amazing and you just want to no more about them. Expecially the girl from nowhere, shes kickass.

    • Me too. Even though it is a novel, I thought she touched on the Indian culture pretty well. These are stand alones, but will be a series and she does kick ass women characters so well that I can hardly wait to see what the next book will bring. Have you tried her Evil Trilogy. It knocked my socks off too.

      • I know what you mean. I would love to have superhuman powers so I don’t need to sleep and never die. Imagine how long the list would get then. LOL

  3. I love kickass women!! And their kickass reviews. :)) You rock, Sherry!!! I’m SO glad you liked Skye Cree. Skye stuck with me for over a year. Now that’s she’s “arrived” I hope others will take the time to get to know her. And yes, in future books, Josh and Skye will be knee deep in serial killers. Good luck to all who’ve entered the contest! I’m anxious to give away the signed copies as well as the ebooks. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I do believe in the supernatural, it keeps life mysterious and interesting. My great-grandfather is looking out for me; to many things have happened where I should not have survived and I did or should have been more seriosly injured and I wasn’t. I am a firm beliver that our men and women in uniform (military, police, firefighters, etc) are heros. Yes, I have had a vision, a few times.

Good luck to those who have netered, I’ve loved reading everyone’s answers. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Hi Steph. I believe our military are heroes. I sure wouldn’t want to be doing what they do. People must have firm beliefs to dedicate their life to keeping ours free. Interesting response from you and I want to thank you so much for sharing. Good luck in the giveaway.

    • I believe in the supernatural — and visions. I don’t think I could write about them if I didn’t. You have only to look at the heroes in uniform, from firemen to police to military, to know that strength and courage come in many forms, both male and female,

  6. This sounds awesome! I don’t really believe in the supernatural, but I do believe in heroes! There are heroes out there every day, for which I’m thankful.

    • I agree with the heroes. It doesn’t have to be someone special, you or I could be a hero in the right circumstances. Thanks for stopping by Dale and good luck.

  8. Definitely believe in paranormal and supernatural. Absolutely believe in heroes (most will never be known), and I know that someone/someones are constantly watching over us from things I have experienced in my life in times of need or challenge. I have never had a vision but have had dreams experiencing communication. Maybe I sound crazy, but truly I am not. I have an open mind and certain beliefs.

Thank you for the opportunity for some good reading.

    • I think I have an open mind and like to believe that there is more to life than what we can see with our own eyes. Sometimes there is no logical explanation for what we feel is true. Thanks for your comments Marianne and it is always a pleasure when you stop by.

  9. I most definitely believe in the supernatural. I also believe in Bigfoot, but that’s another story. I positively believe in the paranormal, because I have a resident ghost in my house. She’s completely harmless, and never has caused us any reason for concern. I KNOW there is Someone watching out for me; how do I know? I still wake up each morning! Have I ever had a vision? Let’s just say: not yet. But as long as I keep waking up each morning, the possibility is still there. As for heroes, the world is full of them. I even know/knew several personally. acwa(at)netscape(dot)com

    • Hi Lee. Great comment. I got a chuckle right off the bat. Bigfoot, lol Have you ever watched the TV shows with the Squatch hunters and Ghost hunters? I can’t help but laugh at them, like a sitcom. That doesn’t mean that something else isn’t out there, though.

  10. WOW I have to agree with you on the covers. They really are eye catching. I’d love a chance to win this book so I am all in.

As to your question(s). I am equal parts believer and skeptic of the paranormal (most days). I think the skeptic is bred by my scientific curious mind, and the need for explanations. But my mother comes from a small village in Portugal, and I spent many summers there as a child. The place is rampant with superstitions and tales of ghosts. And to this day I think I came face to face with one as a kid… but of course, over the years the memory has been explained away tons of times by others and myself…. but who knows… ๐Ÿ™‚

I also believe in guardian angels watching over us. As to heroes? I think there are many human heroes in the world. ๐Ÿ™‚

    bookluvrshaven@gmail.com

    • Thanks so much for your comments Lily. I am a bit of the skeptic too. I want to see it, feel, it touch it. I like to think I have an open mind, because there are people I know who are so adamant that these things are real and true. Who am I to say otherwise. I guess you ghost must have been a nice one because you didn’t say anything bad about it. Good luck and have a great night.

  11. I am 50/50 on the subject. I had an experience as a child with a guardian angel /ghost after my father died when I was 7 yrs old. I get de ja vue a lot in reference to people, places, and conversarions. I know some people who swear certain things are real, but I think until you experience it yourself it is hard to say.

  12. I believe in the paranormal simply because there has to be more than just what my tiny brain can fathom, from there what paranormal factors are “real” who knows, but I will continue to enjoy all forms of it written and shared ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you for sharing with us and for this lovely giveaway opportunity.
    dz59001[at]gmail[dot]com

    • I would hate to think that us fallible humans is all there is in this world. Who is to say what more is out there, we just haven’t experienced it yet.

  13. I don’t really believe in any of them. They creep me out nonetheless. I’ve never had any experiences with them so until then, I don’t believe in them.

  14. kelleeh.73@gmail.com, I believe in paranormal I believe in angels and demon I believe my cousin who past so suddenly is watching me, we grew up like brother and sister and our love never faltered he is here for me until we meet again. I believe in heros a good friend of mine saved me during my divorce kids and all my ex would kick me out and he had a camper I had the floor sometime lol ๐Ÿ˜‰ but damn those were the good ole days I have seen visions but nothing ever came of them. I really do hope to win good luck everyone Thank you for the opportunity!

    • Sounds like your beliefs help you land on your feet during the bad times. It is always nice when we find out our friends are there through thick and thin. Thanks so much for sharing and good luck in the giveaway.

  15. I’ve seen a few things that I can’t explain, so I definately believe in the Paranormal. I’ve never had a vision, and I’m not sure if I ever want one.

  16. I do believe in the paranormal. Absolutely. Heroes?….superheroes like Spider-Man, Batman, and such, no! Everyday heroes? Just an average joe that’s in the right place at the right time…..I believe in those. I believe in Angel as our protectors as well. I’ve never had a vision…not sure I’d like that:-) Deb

  17. Yes I believe in paranormal, heroes, and being watched over! I also believe that those watching over me need to point me in the right direction more clearly because I am sometimes a little distracted! Happy reading everyone! ๐Ÿ™‚

  18. I always loved the supernatural, so yes I do believe in it to an extent! I do believe in heroes, everyday people like Police Officers and Fire Fighters! I’m Christian so I believe that God is always watching over me ๐Ÿ™‚

According to my mother, her grandfather was psychic and sometimes I’ll say certain things will happen and they come true. A few things that have happened in my dreams have ended up coming true as well!

    lakeyg@yahoo.com

    • Hi Lacey. Nice to see you again. I agree with every day people being heroes. It’s amazing how they just do something without thinking of themselves and expect no accolades or recognition of any kind. They are truly special people. Maybe the psychic thing runs in families. A lot of things are genetic.

  19. No I don’t believe in the paranormal or the supernatural.. Heros are the brave men and women that fight/help to keep me free and safe. But I love to read a paranormal book and get lost in it.

    • Most everyone agrees with the heroes being the people that protect us in one shape or form, whether it is the military, fireman……. I love paranormal and get lost in it too. But that is what a book is for to me. Take me on a journey and adventure beyond the norm. Thanks for stopping by Angela and good luck.

  20. Yes to all. I have deja vu all the time and it really makes you contemplate the unexplained. We have heroes everywhere even if their only superpower is courage and I do believe in a divine presence that watches over us. Your books look amazing and I can hardly wait to dive in.

    • Sounds like you are in tune with the world. It is always a good thing when you have someone or something watching over you. We can all use a little help now and then. Glad you like my book choices. Sounds like we have similar tastes. Keep an eye out for more to come. LOL
