Sherry’s Shelves #165 – A Happy 300th to New Orleans #NewOrleans

.

Sherry’s Shelves #165 is my weekly update from July 29 – August 4, 2018.

Hello my fellow bloggers. It has been a week of writing lots of reviews, because I got a bit behind. I hope to finish catching up this weekend. I’ve been doing some work outside, ya know clean up. I love to be outside…doing anything. We have had enough rain, I don’t need to water and I like that. Last Sunday I shared some photos of the Blue Angels in their first Biloxi, Mississippi beach show. This week I am going to share some of the photos from the 300th birthday of New Orleans, Lousiana. The weather was HOT and for the most part I love it. I was happy to take a break for lunch, though. Cool down and power up. Hope you enjoy them.

The first Is a slide show of photographs and the second is a driving tour of New Orleans. They are both a bit long, but feel free to flip through them.

  1. Wow, looks like a fun time in New Orleans! I’m gonna bookmark both those videos and watch ’em. Glad you guys had a good time 🙂

Hope you’re having a good weekend!

  2. I wish I had travelled a bit more when I was younger and working! I do like holidays in the UK with my dad though as we have similar tastes in what we like to visit. I’ll take a look at your holidays when I have a bit more time!

    • That is so cool that you and your dad spend time together. My father has passed away and I wish I would have spent more time with him when I had the chance.

  3. It’s been too long since I visited New Orleans! Weren’t we there before Christmas last time? I bet it’s steamy hot and requires some delicious Hurricanes. LOL

    My Sunday Post

    • Last time I was there was for New Year’s Even and the Sugar Bowl. I meant to do a post about it, but…things happen. 🙂 It was steamy and yes, the hurricanes are scrumptious.

    • We’re lucky that NO is only 2 or 3 hours away, so we hope over several times during the year. Frosted Bait looks like so much fun, I couldn’t resist it and I do love that title. Went a little one click crazy last week. LOL

  4. I’ve always had a rather romantic view of New Orleans – and your photos make me realise that it is every bit as charming and quirky as I’d imagined! Thank you for allowing me to travel vicariously with you, Sherry:)

    • It is my pleasure and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. It is a unique place and I love it.

  5. Good luck with catching up. I’m way behind on reviews, too. I love the slide show. I want to go to New Orleans someday (mostly to eat the food). Enjoy your new books. Have a great week!

    • Thank AJ. I am getting close and am on target for getting caught up this week…for 2018 reviews. I have some older ones I owe but that is another story. to me food is fuel, like gas for a car, but Mr Wonderful appreciates all the delicious food to be found.

  6. Thanks for sharing the pics. New Orleans is someplace I would like to visit. I’ve always felt like maybe I’ve lived there in another space and time. It seems like the perfect place for me – maybe someday. Magic and Mischief looks so adorable and Waking the Dead seems right up my alley too. Have a wonderful week!

    • I love sharing pics and videos. Hope you get a chance. I used to think about living there too, but there is a lot of people and I now crave a slower, less crowd place on a full time basis. I am looking forward tor reading Magic and MIschief. I love Emily’s cute stories. And of course I need some horror in my life. lol

  7. I love the cover of Magic and Mischief. Dragons for the win! 🐲

New Orleans! It’s on my bucket list. I have an acquaintance who lives there in winter/spring and in Ireland in summer/fall so I am more likely to go now knowing someone there. I cannot wait until my son gets out of college so I have some money for travel. I also love books set in New Orleans. ✈

I hope you had a great start to your week. 🌞

    • I’m with you LA LA. I hope to dig into M&M real soon. Hope you get to visit NO soon. You have a tour guide there now. 🙂 I love books set in NO too. Always on the lookout for them. College does cut into the funds.

    • That happens to me sometimes too. I found this in the trash, which I check a lot for just this reason.
