MY REVIEW
The Woman in Crimson by Kathryn Meyer Griffith is a paranoral/supernatural tale, a love story…of a sort.
Do you believe in eternal love?
Well…Lilith does and she will do whatever it takes to be with her man.
I love stories that are predictable…until…
Are you afraid of the dark? You should be. And don’t go out there.
I SAID, “DON’T GO OUT THERE!”
Why won’t they listen?
Imagine “living” in the Civil War days, then waking up in the 1990’s with all the years in between a blank. I am curious about where she has been for the last 100 years.
The Woman In Crimson has ghosts, witches and vampires, but the road to the end of the journey is filled with twists and turns that kept me reading and reading, faster and faster, the suspense building and building. I am racing through the pages of my Kindle. Is that smoke I see?
Kathryn Meyer Griffith’s writing flows smoothly and the characters…well I could even empathize with the villain. She doesn’t mind killing off her characters and I wonder if she feels any remorse. Who will be left standing?
I received a copy of The Woman in Crimson by Kathryn Meyer Griffith in return for an honest review.

GOODREADS BLURB
Sometimes love lasts forever…but maybe it shouldn’t. Willowwind, a beautiful Civil War era bed and breakfast, is run by a loving couple, Adrian and Caroline Stone, but it’s also haunted by a long-dead Civil War era vampiress, Lilith, who believes the man, Adrian, is her reincarnated soldier/lover and will do anything to have him, body-heart-and soul, for her own again, no matter how many she must kill. But Adrian’s wife, Caroline, along with the help of the ghost of her dead father, will do anything to make sure that doesn’t happen.
ABOUT KATHRYN MEYER GRIFFITH
Since childhood I’ve been an artist and worked as a graphic designer in the corporate world and for newspapers for twenty-three years before I quit to write full time. But I’d already begun writing novels at 21, over forty-four years ago now, and have had twenty-two (ten romantic horror, two horror novels, two romantic SF horror, one romantic suspense, one romantic time travel, one historical romance, two thrillers, and four murder mysteries) previous novels, two novellas and twelve short stories published from Zebra Books, Leisure Books, Avalon Books, The Wild Rose Press, Damnation Books/Eternal Press; and I’ve self-published my last ten novels with Amazon Kindle Direct and my Dinosaur Lake novels and Spookie Town Mysteries (Scraps of Paper, All Things Slip Away and Ghosts Beneath Us) are my best-sellers.
I’ve been married to Russell for thirty-seven years; have a son and two grandchildren and I live in a small quaint town in Illinois, which is right across the JB Bridge from St. Louis, Mo. We have a quirky cat, Sasha, and the three of us live happily in an old house in the heart of town. Though I’ve been an artist, and a folk/classic rock singer in my youth with my brother Jim, writing has always been my greatest passion, my butterfly stage, and I’ll probably write stories until the day I die…or until my memory goes.

Thank you Sherry for reviewing my The Woman in Crimson! I appreciate it! Warmly, author Kathryn Meyer Griffith rdgriff@htc.net
Always a pleasure to share one of your books, Kathryn.
I love the blurb, it hooks me right away.
And NO, if someone tells me don’t go out in the dark, I will definitely NOT go out in the dark. However, curiosity would probably eat me alive!!
Well, my comment didn’t post the first time, so here we go again. Sorry if this posts twice!
I love the blurb, it hooks me right away.
And NO, I would not go out in the dark if someone told me not to. But curiosity might make a liar out of me!!
Guess that is where the saying curiosity killed the cat came from. LOL
I’m afraid of the dark, so if you told me NOT to go out, I wouldn’t. It’s dark. I’m inside, where’s it’s nice and safe. I’ll stay with you. Heck, yes. No dark for me!
Oops. Forgot to include my email: michelle_willms at yahoo dot com
Maybe we can just peek out the window. LOL
I like the array of creatures but not a fan of the cover art.
Kathryn has gotten the rights to her books back, so if you check them out further, you may see another cover. 🙂
Hells no!!! LOL I’ve seen the movies. I know the rules.!
Fun review, Sherry. Which book shall we read next? We still have plenty more of Kathryn’s books to go. It will be a sad day when we’ve read all of them.
I think it will take us a while, so no worries right now. 🙂
You wouldn’t even need to tell me not to go out in the dark.
No boogie men or vampires for you, huh?
Hey,
I had to add (so all of you can have a laugh)…I’m afraid of the dark, too. Terrified. As I am of many things (heights, flying, driving in heavy rain, icy conditions or fog). I’d NEVER go out in the night if there’s a vampire or serial killer loose. And THAT’S why I write horror (as well as murder mysteries) because I’m a big fraidy cat. Ha, ha, ha.
I wonder, how much do you scare yourself as you write…LOL
no kidding eh?? ahh what the mind can come up with when you’re afraid!! great that you put it to good use Kathryn!! 🙂
Sherry
I never scare myself when I’m writing and am always amused when people say how frightened they got reading my stories. For me it’s like therapy and not scary at all. I guess when you know the ending and can make the characters do anything you want them to do…it’s not scary.
And I don’t like killing my characters off but in a horror novel it’s expected that someone will/should die. Unfortunately, it’s not real enough if everyone gets out alive.
I would listen to you, I’m actually afraid of the dark and have been since I was a kid.
Being as I’ve never been afraid to be out in the night, I’d probably go out if I felt like it (and I’d feel like it most likely just because I’m a contrary thing). I’d probably also be armed with a blade and/or a nice stout staff, too. Being unafraid doesn’t mean being stupid. 😀
jolie_b@joliebonnette.com
I am a bit contrary myself, so I can relate. Glad to know you would be armed. 🙂
Hey!! Great review and i’d love to win a copy of the book! to answer your question: Umm… I might go into the dark.. just to peek.. depending on what was enticing me out there.. 🙂
my email is jslater7536@gmail.com
and my website/bookblog is http://www.innersanity.weebly.com
It’s one of those things, if I am told not to do it, I almost have to. 🙂
Sherry FUNDIN/FUNDINMENTAL – a belated comment to host site Fundinmental & author Kathryn GRIFFITH. Rc’d Sherry’s email 19Feb16. Woman in Crimson…love story, haints, vampires, my kind of mayhem & blood clots. Sherry–looking forward to Fundinmental 11Mar2016. Congrats to the author on her new release. Ain’t it fun!

There sure is plenty of that. If you weren’t afraid of the dark, you may be after reading this. LOL I’ll see you on the 11th, right here on fundinmental, Hawk.
Another great review! Another great question! Why do you bring out the rebel in me? I’m pretty sure I would NOT have gone out into the dark until you told me NOT to… I think my inner daredevil would come out, you know the one- too stupid to live…I can only hope my inner grandma prevails and I would listen…if not…you tried!
babyblue7299@yahoo.com
Only if I had to pee!
LOL Good one.
Well now that you told me not to go out in the dark, I am most definitely going. I am going out prepared through. I have watched enough horror films and read enough books that it will take me a half hour to pack but I am going. You coming with me?
You bet! Just let me know what you didn’t grab and I will. 🙂
Thank you for doing this! I love ghost stories!
So happy to have you join us Theresa. Good luck. 🙂
I’d definitely go out in the dark, but I might wear camouflage. 😉 robertkrone@gmail.com
