MY REVIEW

Detective Owen Morrison had saved her brother’s life. Though they are not together, Tina Thomas is still in love with him. They had broken up two years ago and, now, she is walking into the police station to thank him. He is the only person she had ever been herself with and she thought he had loved her too, but…

Tina and her sister Tiffany own Double Trouble Sweet Treats and she had baked the cupcakes she was bringing to Owen herself. His favorite, chocolate with strawberry inside, with chocolate flavored whipped cream. MMMMM. Sounds super yummy to me.

Could he forgive her for keeping secrets? She didn’t do it to hurt him.

I love Jade too. She is Tina’s brother’s girlfriend.

Closing In is heavy in the romance department, though I do feel a sense of menace lingering on each page as they rekindle their relationship.

HE is watching. HEwill make a move on her, it’s just a matter of when. I love looking at things from the villain’s perspective. I find it fascinating. His thoughts are unrealistic, obsessive. It shows how perverted, twisted, and truly terrifying a stalker can be. Love, I don’t think so. And, when HE doesn’t get what he wants?

I found repetition, but it is an ARC, so ‘they’ will most likely clean that up. The first half of the book is deep into the romance, then we start getting into the good stuff, the things I really look forward to.

Both Jane and Amanda write some easy reading romance stories that have entertained me for hours. Some lighter, some darker, but I have enjoyed them all. Keeps me coming back for more.

I love, at the end of the book, Jane Blythe and Amanda Siegrist share who wrote whose POV in this fabulous collaboration.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Closing In by Jane Blythe and Amanda Siegrist.

GOODREADS BLURB

The past is closing in on them, and they’ll only survive if they learn from their mistakes.

Tina Thomas was betrayed in the worst possible way and doesn’t know how to trust anymore. The last thing she wants is more eyes watching her, so she hides her pain. Problem is, in doing so, she lost the best thing to ever happen to her—the man she loved. Now she’s being gifted with a second chance, but she could lose it all if she can’t find the courage to share what she’s been hiding from everyone for years: an obsessive stalker who plans to never let her go.

Two years is a long time to be without the person you love, but Detective Owen Morrison is focused on catching a killer, not rekindling a lost love. He’s moved on. Or so he thought. Tina jumping back into his life has him rethinking everything that happened between them. Except he senses she’s still hiding something. This time, however, he isn’t going to let doubts and insecurities ruin their second chance. After all, whatever the problem is, he can solve it…if she’ll let him in. But the closer he tries to get to the truth, the more Owen starts to fear Tina’s secret may be far deadlier than he could have ever imagined.

ABOUT JANE BLYTHE

USA Today bestselling author Jane Blythe writes action-packed romantic suspense and military romance featuring protective heroes and heroines who are survivors. One of Jane’s most popular series includes Saving SEALs, part of Susan Stoker’s OPERATION ALPHA world! Writing in that world alongside authors such as Janie Crouch and Riley Edwards has been a blast, and she looks forward to bringing more books to this genre, both within and outside of Stoker’s world. When Jane isn’t binge-reading she’s counting down to Christmas and adding to her 200+ teddy bear collection!

ABOUT AMANDA SIEGRIST

Amanda Siegrist

Love! Gimme some love and heaps of romance. I have a sappy heart that just loves two people meeting, going through the cycles of a relationship, and ultimately, falling in love. Give me a good book like that and I’m a happy camper:)

I write contemporary and romantic suspense, but I am partial to suspense. I just love a good mystery.

Besides writing, I love baking, crafts, and baseball…oh, and meeting new people. *smiles*

“Henrietta and Inspector Howard are the best pair of sleuths I’ve come across in ages. A fantastic start to what is sure to be a long running series.” ―Tasha Alexander, New York Times bestselling author
Book Series Description:
A GIRL LIKE YOU: Beautiful Henrietta Von Harmon works as a 26 girl at a corner bar, Poor Pete’s, on Chicago’s northwest side. It’s 1935, but things still aren’t looking up since the big crash and her father’s subsequent suicide. Left to care for her antagonistic mother and seven younger siblings, Henrietta is persuaded to take a job as a taxi dancer at a local dance hall. Henrietta is just beginning to enjoy herself, dancing with men for ten cents a dance, when the floor matron suddenly turns up murdered. The aloof Inspector Clive Howard then appears on the scene, and Henrietta unwittingly finds herself involved in unraveling the mystery when she agrees to go undercover for him in a burlesque theater where he believes the killer lurks.

Even as Henrietta is plunged into Chicago’s grittier underworld, she struggles to still play the mother “hen” to her younger siblings and even to the pesky neighborhood boy, Stanley, who believes himself in love with her and continues to pop up in the most unlikely places, determined, ironically, to keep Henrietta safe, even from the Inspector if needs be. Despite his efforts, however, and his penchant for messing up the Inspector’s investigation, the lovely Henrietta and the impenetrable Inspector find themselves drawn to each other in most unsuitable ways.
