I added this to my Goodreads TBR on 10.12.12 but grabbed it from Amazon on 8.3.12. The Goodreads ratings make this a very desirable read for me. Described as a noir crime, hard boiled mystery,it makes me think of Humphrey Bogart and I always like that. How about you? Do old time mysteries appeal to you?

Yes, old time mysteries appeal to me. I like crime noir and vintage crime stories like Erle Stanley Gardner’s Perry Mason.
Having him in the middle of a cancer battle ups my emotional response (which is important for me when I read something)
I love that she’s not only a retired detective, but also battling cancer to up the ante. It sounds exciting and I love classic hard-boiled detective stories.
Great cover and blurb. Thanks for sharing!
I’m not really a crime kind of reader for the most part! The MC does sound different from the usual though.
