There is plenty of blood, guts and gore for all of you gruesome horror lovers.

What does it take to kill a vampire? Are the stories you’ve heard really true?

I read and reviewed Freeblood by Marny Copal in February of 2013.

I was looking at my bookshelf, it’s just something I do, and saw this cover. It’s different from many covers and stands out, so I grabbed it for this weeks meme. I hope you enjoy another fun and gruesome horror novel for the waning days of October.

The steady slap, slap, slap of Taron’s sandals echoed off the rough stone walls. He checked his sword, made sure his tunic and pants were properly fastened and wondered if he’d ever get used to this absurd style of clothing.

After a lifetime in scholarly robes, it was difficult to believe these new designs were more practical, though he had to admit that the pants didn’t tangle around his legs the way his robes often had. In A Death in Vegas, the president of BenBugs, a company that specializes in beneficial bugs for organic gardening, discovers a young woman dead in his Las Vegas hotel suite. She had worked as a sexy lady bug at his convention booth—and he had nothing to do with her death.

While that’s being investigated, the FBI raids his booth on a money-laundering scam that he knows nothing about, either.

Soon, the coroner doesn’t have good news. The police and FBI are against him—and his wife cannot be found. He flees to find the answers.
