Eden’s Creature: A Short Story by Gillian Turner
I was browsing Amazon, looking for monsters, creatures and critters for a good scare. Everything about this book screamed at me, so I picked it up and here we are.
I mean, look at that gorgeous cover. And what’s that flying through the air?
Is it still free? YES! So go HERE to get your copy now. (Be sure to check for the “0”).
Eden’s Creature:
A Short Story
by Gillian Turner
Length: 28 pages (estimated)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rachel McClellan was arrested and sentenced to a psychiatric hospital for the murder of her husband. No one would believe her story.
She kept writing to Detective Reginald Cross and won him over. He went to Hiker’s Bend to investigate. He knew he couldn’t tell what he found, because no one would believe him either.
DON’T TURN OFF THE LIGHTS!
DON’T GO IN THE CAVE! I said DON’T GO IN THE CAVE, you idiots!
3 STARS – Would Recommend To Others
I love the cover and the title said creatures – cool, that’s what I was looking for. I did enjoy this book. It was fun, quick and easy to read..
It reads like a B movie – glowing eyes peeking in the window, the sound of wings fluttering in the air. I knew as soon as they drove by the cave, the idiots would have to go in. LOL I love it. I love B movies and this would make a great one. I couldn’t help but laugh at certain places, because I knew what was coming. I could see it as if the film was unrolling through my mind.
The way the book was written created suspense. I knew something was coming, just not sure what.
The ending rates 5 stars. I never saw THAT coming.
I looked around and couldn’t find anything about the author. Even Amazon doesn’t have an author page. So, Gillian Turner, if you are reading this, just let me say HI and thanks for the freebie. ^_^
Thanks for the review. That sounds like a book I’d enjoy. I love B movies, too. They’re so… non-standard. 🙂
That’s for sure. I had fun reading the book and writing the review.
I love your comments, they crack me up: “don’t go into the cave/the idiots would have to go in”. I am always yelling at books and movies and my husband just shakes his head at me. I just don’t understand haven’t these people in these books/movies ever read/watched these situations before and know what they are getting themselves into. LOL Yet people like us read/watch them for enjoyment.
Same here. I was laughing while I was reading, then I was laughing while I wrote the review. lol
Too funny, Sherry! In all scary movies/books, they always go into the places normal people wouldn’t go into! But, that’s why we love to watch/read them.
I’m amazed by authors that can create a suspense filled story in only 28 pages. I can’t do it. I need more time. Short stories are an amazing talent!
Yep. I love it when I’m yelling at the characters – Don’t open the door, Don’t go in the basement. I know they will and I am counting on them doing it. I feel the same way about the authors that write the short stories and I have read some good ones.
You know I had to get this one!!
I’m a sucker for B movies:) And you know I can’t resist creatures. Fun review Sherry.
Do I spy a tree?
I’ll get it read and do my review on this upcoming weeks Freakin Friday post!
LOL I knew you would be all over it. Yes, you do see a tree and I am looking forward to your review.
I love all creature features. I’m starting to see a pattern here. hehehe
LOL. Happy reading!
