I love Bette Midler. Her talent crosses many boundaries, from music, to movies to the written word.
I love her song, The Rose. It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.
Check out this cute illustrated story of The Saga of Baby Divine.
This is the cover for my 1st edition hardcover published in 1983.
My 56

And Fear makes a Home in you Heart!”

Book Beginnings
The skies were ablaze with Disorder that Night,
The Planets, aghast and aquiver;
The Delirious Moon had the Brass to be Full
When it should have been only a sliver.
Do you have a favorite Bette Midler song, movie or book?
GOODREADS BLURB: This book is divine, it’s simply sublime, As Baby Divine’s tale’s related in rhyme. Bette Midler inspires with her words full of charm. As she tells us how Baby Divine escapes harm. How so much talent could be in one girl? To fathom it makes my poor brain start to whirl. She not only acts, sings, dances and writes! She’s the brightest of stars in a world full of nights …

I love The Rose but didn’t know Midler was also an author. The book sounds good. I’m reading When She’s Gone by Jane Palmer this week. Happy reading!
I knew she wrote some books, but not this one. How cute.
My Friday 56 from Deadly Silence
How awesome. I’ve loved Bette Midler since I was in high school and that was too many years ago to think about – haha. I adore the song The Rose, but she has so many good ones and I enjoyed Ms. Otis Regrets and In My Life as well as her version of Beast of Burden.
Beautiful. I love everything about this book. Thanks! And thanks for the visit today.
Oh, I loved hearing The Rose today…it’s one of my favorite Bette Midler songs….and I enjoyed the movie that featured it. Cute book! Thanks for sharing, and now I’m tempted.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
I share your admiration of Bette Midler. In addition to her many talents, she’s done so much for parks and gardens in NYC, which has earned her a special place in my heart.
I had no idea that Bette Midler wrote books. This book looks cute, thanks for mentioning it.
Never heard of this but that cover is cute. 🙂
Bette Midler is fantastic!! Do I have a fave? Not really, but I do like her a lot. I’d read this just ’cause she wrote it… lol
Happy weekend!
I had completely forgotten that Bette Middler had written books! This looks really fun! And suddenly I want to rewatch Beaches!
This looks great. I always loved Bette Middler.
Hi Sherry,
Here in the UK, Bette Midler is probably better known as an actress and whilst I knew she also sang, I had no idea about the quality and clarity of her voice. I certainly didn’t know she wrote books, isn’t that cover art amazing? Bette is definitely an all round performer and I can now see her in a totally different light.
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your weekend 🙂
Yvonne
LOVE her and my favorite song, “From A Distance.” Over the years I have enjoyed teaching some of her best hits to piano students. I’ve got to check out the book. Thanks for sharing!
I had no idea that she was an author too, that’a amazing. Hope you enjoy your weekend!
No idea she wrote! 🙂
Thanks for all your comment everyone. I love reading them and was very happy to share an amazing singer, actress and author with you.
Great post Sherry! I loved Bette Midler in Beaches! I watched that movie countless times, and cried my eyes out each and every time!
