The Cabin by Carla Neggers is a thriller that will keep you warm on those cold winter nights.
I love the pastel colors for this ‘cool’ cover.
My 56
When he came home that evening and told her about Alice’s arrest and never mentioned the tape, Susanna assumed the tape was no good, completely irrelevant – and that Alice hadn’t mentioned it to him. Why should she? She was on her way to prison, her career ruined. If there’s been anything useful on the tape, she’d have turned it over, if only to nail Beau McCarrity and prove herself right.
(Page 56 in paperback)
Book Beginnings
Susann Galway sipped her margarita and watched the countdown to midnight on the television above the bar at Jim’s Place, the small, dark pub just down the street from where she lived with her grandmother and twin teenage daughters. It had been a fixture in the neighborhood for as long as Susanna could remember.
GOODREADS BLURB: Vengeance, money and murder are menacing companions when they meet in the quiet stillness of an Adirondack winter.
Texas Ranger Jack Galway knows his wife Susanna loves him, so when their marriage hits a rough patch, he supports her decision to take their teenaged daughters to Boston for a break. But now a couple of weeks has turned into several months and Jack has had enough. He wants his family back.
Ex-convict Alice Parker left a mess back in Texas, and she’ll never forgive Jack Galway for killing her dream of ever becoming a Texas Ranger herself. Now, guided by greed and vengeance, she’s got her sights set on his family.
Packing up the girls and her grandmother, Susanna heads to a cabin in the Adirondacks, trying to escape her fears, her secrets . . . and maybe even the man she loves. Little does she realize they are being followed, only this time by her husband . . . and a murderer.

Which cover do you like best?
This is an author I have wanted to read and I think I either have one of her books or it’s on my wishlist and I need to grab one. 🙂

Hi Stormi. Glad to hear you are familiar with her. Look forward to finding out what you think.
Sounds like a good thriller. I’ve read and enjoyed other books by this author. This week I’m spotlighting a mystery – Front Runner by Felix Francis. Happy reading!
Definitely worth reading more of her work. Glad you enjoy her too.
While I have certainly heard of her, I have never read any of Neggers books. I’d love for you and your readers to check out my BB & 56… http://tinyurl.com/LisaKsBookReviewsSAI
Hi Lisa. Hope you give her a try some time. Happy reading.
This looks very good. I’ll have to try this author. Thanks for sharing.
Ooh, yes! My kind of read! Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog. Enjoy!
This one sounds properly creepy – I hope you’re enjoying it now the evenings are really starting to draw in…
Sipping margaritas doesn’t match the ‘cool’ cover but I love the intrigue in the 56! Happy weekend!
I have never read anything by this author before, but this book sounds like a good one. Thanks for mentioning it. I’m definitely adding this one to my goodreads TBR.
Hi Sherry,
This is a new to me author, however I do enjoy the slightly more ‘cozy’ murder mysteries from time to time, so I may go back to the beginning of one of her series and give her writing a try.
I certainly like the look of the pastel cover art and wonder if the publishers are planning complimenting re-prints of some of the other covers, as the selection featured on Fantastic Fiction, are very mixed and quite dreary looking..

Thanks for the introduction to a new author for my list 🙂
Yvonne
I do like the ‘cool’ look of the first cover, but since the book is called The Cabin, I prefer the middle cover with a visual of the cabin. I’m obsessed with cabins and want to live in one, so I love the visual.
Romantic suspense, now there’s a combination of genres I don’t think I’ve ever picked up. Hope you enjoy the weekend!

More and more snow in the covers lately. Hope you’re enjoying it!
The first thing in my mind at the mention a Texas Ranger is Walker, Texas Ranger! 😀
Thanks for visiting my blog earlier. 🙂
