I read Heaven Enough, Book I (see my review HERE) some time ago and loved it, so I am very excited to share the cover for Ken La Salle’s new sequel, Heaven Denied.
MY 56 is the first paragraph, since I don’t have the book…yet.
In the remains of a bedroom down in the seaside town of Ocean Beach, California, a broken man bolted out of a nightmare and returned to his life.
(published in 2018)
GOODREADS BLURB
What would it be like to have heaven enough?
For just a few, brief days on the Pacific Crest Trail, Matt Murphy knew. He fell in love, faced his true self, and came to understand what was really important in life – until the woman he fell in love with died and his life was cast into the chaotic emptiness of grief. Within that emptiness, Matt lost his wealth, his job, and everything that helped his life make sense.
Matt believed he could accept that if it really was the price of true love… Until he learned that the woman he loved had already been married.
Where that left him and what it meant for the love he thought they shared, Matt couldn’t know. His only recourse would be to meet the man who had married his love and understand what that love had meant to him. How could he have lost her? How could he have pushed her aside? How could he have given her up when losing her broke so much of what was left of Matt’s heart?
Matt is going to have to find out. Even if it means blundering through another relationship, driving into a lake, just a bit of kidnapping, and possibly facing the kind of man he really is, was, and always will be.
The results of which could change Matt’s life forever…

Ooo, I like that first sentence/paragraph! I’d keep reading.
Ok, I will. lol
Thanks, Priscilla!
Gorgeous cover and blurb. Thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog.
My pleasure.
Laurel-Rain,
It’s one of my favorite covers. Thanks!
I love that smokey cover! It actually took me a moment to see the care. Great choice!
I love it too. Very subtle. I love covers that make me really LOOK at them.
Thanks, Louise! I worked with the same cover artist who created the cover for Heaven Enough.
Sounds like a great series! Happy weekend!
For sure. Ken writes in numerous genres and I have loved them all.
Thanks to you both! And there will be a 3rd book in the series, coming out later this year.
Sounds like a good book and the cover is great. This week I am spotlighting The Paragon Hotel by Lyndsay Faye. Happy reading!
Thanks. On my way over.
Thanks, Kathy!
That’s such a great snippet. And the cover is gorgeous! Hope you have an awesome weekend! 🙂
So glad you like it, Ashley!
And looking at page 56, it appears that Matt Murphy could use a nice weekend as well.
The first line reads: Long story short: Matt was in no mood to think.
Not heard of this series so thanks for spotlighting it.
And thank you for saying so, Stormi. Heaven Enough was originally planned as a stand-alone novel, not the first in a series, but thanks to readers who loved the characters (and how much fun they were to write) I knew fairly quickly that we hadn’t seen the last of Matt Murphy’s struggles with love.
This is such a great cover! Thank you for sharing.

Lovely cover. And it is a sequel? I take it you liked the first book? Enjoy! I’m highlighting BEARTOWN today
Thanks, Anne!
I may have to add this series to my tbr! 🙂
Lauren @ Always Me
Thanks, Lauren! Here’s hoping you do!
Hope you’ll enjoy it as much as the first book!
I am in complete agreement. 😉
This sounds really emotional. I couldn’t imagine finding out something like that after losing someone you love.
I hear you, Carole. And a terrible situation like that is only made worse by the way guys “deal” with grief. Fortunately, it also makes things a lot funnier. (At least, that’s the idea.)
I hope you get a chance to read it!
I kind of like how that 56 is worded. Hope you enjoy your weekend!
Thanks, Alicia!
Well. I think I should read this series, Sherry! And that awesome cover sure tells a story, doesn’t it.
Thanks, Laura. I hope you do, of course.
The cover image was in my head for a long time. It represents a moment in the book that you can’t miss. And I was so happy that it worked!
Wow Ken. So happy to see you sharing yourself…well, you know what I mean. LOL I love having you visit…and to everyone else, thanks so much for dropping by!
