I have tried to come up with a way to make things simpler for myself when it comes to choosing my next novel to share. This is what I have come up with.
I am starting with the first author on *this* bookshelf and…
now I am moving on to The Trench by Steve Alten
I have read numerous books by Steve Alten and revel in his creature features.
MY FRIDAY 56
The damage began ten feet down…Jonas knew it would only be a matter of time until the joints were torn free. Once the first few went, the rest would follow quickly.
The ampullae of Lorenzini. The predator was zooming in on the faint electrical field given off by his pounding heart.

MY BOOK BEGINNINGS
Retired Navy deep-sea pilot Barry Leace wiped the sweat from his palms as he checked the depth indicator of the Proteus. Thirty-found thousand seven hundred and eighteen feet. Nearly seven miles of water above their heads, sixteen thousand pounds per square inch of water pressure surrounding them.
SYNOPSIS
Its appetite is ravenous. Its teeth scalpel-sharp. Its power unstoppable as it smashes the steel doors holding it in a Monterey Aquarium. For the first time, the captive twenty-ton Megalodon shark has tasted human blood, and it wants more. On the other side of the world, in the silent depths of the ocean, lies the Marianas Trench, where the Megalodon has spawned since the dawn of time. Paleo-biologist Jonas Taylor once dared to enter this perilous cavern. He alone faced a MEG and cut its heart out. He still wears the painful scars of that encounter. Now, as the body count rises and the horror of a monster’s attack grips the California coast, Jonas must begin the hunt again. But to do that means returning to the dark terror of the trench…where the MEG is waiting. Using himself as bait, Jonas will enter the ultimate battle–a fight to he death between man and beast in the darkest recesses of the ocean, and a fight for sanity from the depths of this own tormented soul.

Definitely looks like a creepy book.
Da dum, da dum…..
Cue the theme from Jaws! I can’t wait for the movie!
Me either.
I can’t help but think of Jaws! 🙂
I know what you mean. I do too, every time I crack open one of these books. Have a great weekend, Lauren.
Oh, wow, this one looks so intense…and scary! Thanks for sharing and enjoy.
And thanks for visiting my blog.
Yes, it is scary and it was my pleasure to visit and thanks right back atcha.
Sounds creepy. I am not familiar with this author. I hope you are enjoying the book. This week I am spotlighting Dragonseye by Anne McCaffrey which has been living on TBR mountain forever. Happy reading!
Those darn mountains just seem to keep on growing. LOL
Hey, I just finished watching SHARK WEEK on TV. I think sharks get a bad wrap (I can say that since I have never been even remotely attacked by one.)
My Friday Quotes
I love shark week and watched it too. I think they get a bad wrap too. I live on the Gulf Coast and the worst that has happened is getting stung by a jellyfish. Ouch! It’s the gift that keeps on giving. LOL
This sounds pretty creepy, and scary being so far down with that crushing water above.
I could never do it. I don’t know how our service guys spend so much time underwater without going completely crazy. Thank you guys and gals for your service!
I have always wanted to read this author but not got around to it. 🙂 Thanks for the reminder. 🙂
Stormi
Well that sounds rather gruesome and terrifying. I hope you are enjoying it though, happy weekend!
Intriguing and intense to say the least.
Sounds like an intense read!
Happy weekend!
Screams to me of Jaws! Sounds a bit too much for me right now 😉
I haven’t heard of this author before but I like the snippets and the blurbs.
Eep! Sounds like something terrible is going to happen. I like the way the author uses all the measurements though 😀 makes it more realistic.
Have a great day,
