As you can see, I am a huge fan of Stephen King, who some would call the master of horror.
I found it hard to choose my favorite one, so I put them through random.org and it chose #26, The Gunslinger, The Dark Tower I, by Stephen King.
MY FRIDAY 56
“You’ll be leaving in the morning,” she said dully.
“I should. I think he’s left a trap for me here.”
(page 56 of paperback, Signet, published in 1989)
MY BOOK BEGINNINGS
The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.
GOODREADS BLURB
This heroic fantasy is set in a world of ominous landscape and macabre menace that is a dark mirror of our own. A spellbinding tale of good versus evil, it features one of Stephen King’s most powerful creations – The Gunslinger, a haunting figure who embodies the qualities of a lone hero through the ages, from ancient myth to frontier western legend.
This is the cover for the paperback I have, which was printed by Signet in July, 1989. The cost was $4.95.
Which cover do you like best?

I like both covers. The new one is more artistic but the original has a more ominous feel. I never did finish the Dark Tower series.
Since I avoid horror, I’ve never read Stephen King. I can see that you are quite a fan. I am spotlighting Sinner’s Steel by Sarah Castille this week. Happy reading!
I’ve read a couple of books by Stephen King, but I’m generally not a fan of horror. However, I do admire his writing ability.
My Friday post features Beneath Montana’s Sky.
I love King! Haven’t read anything from him I didn’t like, and I’ve read a lot!
Happy weekend!
Stephen King is just too awesome. Hard to choose my fav with his book.
Steven King is awesome!!! I have a lot of his books too but at one point in my life I quit reading them and just collecting them, though don’t have some of his new ones. I need to go back and start reading them. 🙂 Not read the book featured but I have it. 🙂
I have the Dark Tower books, but I’ve never got around to reading them yet. I should remedy that soon!
Just wanted to say thanks for dropping in and happy reading!
