Next up on the list is Treasure by Clive Cussler.
I have a “few” of his books and have loved them all.
I can’t get enough of his wild adventures!
How about YOU? Want to hunt for some treasure with Dirk Pitt?

MY FRIDAY 56
Never in his wildest nightmares did he see himself in such a crazy predicament. One wrong physical movement, a slight error in judgment and fifty people would find a deep, unknown grave in the sea. Not fair, he cried in his mind over and over. Not fair.

MY BOOK BEGINNINGS
A small, flickering light danced eerily through the black of the tunneled passageway. A man dressed in a woolen tunic that dropped below his knees paused and raised an oil lamp above his head. The dim glow illuminated a human figure inside a gold and crystal casket while casting a grotesque, wavering shadow against the smoothly cut wall behind The man in the tunic stared into the sightless eyes for a few moments, and then he lowered the lamp and tuned away.

Thanks for visiting fundinmental!
Both covers are good but I like the old one best. Feels more like Cussler and his characters Dirk and Al.
I agree. I would be more apt to pick it up. The newer one looks too much like a lot of other books out there and tends to blend in. I always love an adventure with the boys. 🙂
I’ve never read this author. I think I’ll look for the first book in the series and give it a try. I am spotlighting Just This Night by Mari Madison this week. Happy reading!
I LOVE his adventures and have been on many of them. 🙂
I vaguely remember reading Cussler years ago. It’s been so long they’d probably feel like new reads! I think I’ll have to test the theory at some point. And definitely the older cover.
I love the older cover better too. It stands out and says, “Read Me.”
Never read Cussler, just not my style. However, I managed a bookstore in the 80’s and I remember his old book covers very well. I always connect that look with him. I’d love for you to check out mine… http://tinyurl.com/LisaKsBookReviewsACFTW
We each have our styles and that is good. Covers are very important and the first thing that catches our attention, so I’m happy to see they appeal to you enough for you to remember them 🙂
Sounds intense! Sometimes we need just this kind of story. Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog. Enjoy!
I agree. I can’t say no to a great adventure.
I have yet to try this author, but I really do need too! 🙂

Friday Memes
I find all his work intense and the main characters are so lovable.
Dirk Pitt is one of my favorite heroes. My husband has almost all of Clive Cussler’s books, and I’ve read most of them too, but somehow I’ve missed this one. Thanks for reminding me to add it to my TBR list.
My Friday post features WATERCOLORS IN THE RAIN.
I like the new cover because it fits in with the beginning more – I’ve never read any of the Dirk Pitt books but have heard great things about them – I have seen the movie with Matthew McConnagahay and loved it (I don’t care what the reviewers said…lol). Here’s my Friday meme
The movies don’t always follow the books exactly. Sometimes it just won’t translate to the screen, but I take each for what it is and love them both. Thanks for stopping in.
Sounds like quite an enthralling read!
Happy weekend!
Clive’s books are always a hit with me. I love a little adventure!
Another intense one! Hope you enjoy and have a good weekend!
Happy reading and a good weekend to you too.
Wonder who’s in the casket? I like the new cover better. I think it fits the book synopsis better. Thanks for visiting my blog! Hope you’re having a great weekend!
Makes me think of an Indiana Jones movie.
I’m intrigued! Both the snippets really draw me in … and make me want to keep going. I’m going to look up this author a bit more! Here’s mine: http://guiltlessreading.blogspot.ca/2016/02/friday56-bookbeginnings-zero-k.html
If you like an adventure with a little romance, this would be a great read for you.
I like the old cover! My husband just started reading CC books. I’ll have to try one.
Thanks for sharing your post on BBOF!
It’s interesting finding out who likes what cover. If you like an adventure with a little romance, this would be a great read for you.
It’s been awhile since I’ve read a Dirk Pitt book! Hope you like it! 🙂
Check out my Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings).
I enjoyed any of his books I have read. Thanks for dropping in.
