Seventeen-year-old Samantha Andrews has a seemingly perfect life; great parents, early admission to Stanford, and a boyfriend who just happens to be the hottest guy in school. But a dark secret from her past turns her world upside down. Sam discovers she’s part of a global corporation’s genetic enhancement project. And just as she’s learning what these enhanced genes can do, the corporation decides they want her, and the technology inside her, back!
During a heart-pounding race to flee from her pursuers, she encounters another person who was part of the experimental project. He’s tall, blond, tan and completely irresistible! And he can read her thoughts!! Together, they’re both in danger and a rogue scientist discovers yet another secret lies inside them.
EXCERPT
“What is this? Why am I here?” I asked, still feeling like I was half asleep.
More footsteps entered the room. “I think she’s slept most of it off,” I heard Erik say to whoever walked in.
I felt Erik’s other hand on my arm and then felt a prick from a needle. Soon I could feel the grogginess go away and the strength in my muscles return. I opened my eyes and could see normally.
Erik was sitting at my side, still holding my hand. “Ready to get up now?” His smile was so warm and kind that the anger I had prepared to unleash on him was quickly disarmed.
Jack stood behind him, arms crossed, studying my every move.
“Amazing,” he said. “But I can’t quite understand it.”
Erik shot him a glance of annoyance.
“Um, yes. Well, let’s get started then, shall we?” Jack said, sitting on a chair at the end of my bed.
Erik sighed, disappointed in how the old man was handling things. He turned back to me. “I know it may not seem like it, but we’re actually trying to help you.”
I gave him the look that I had heard that line before.
“Sure. You don’t believe me,” he continued. “I wouldn’t believe me either. Someone drugs me and I wake up in some strange place, I’d be pretty pissed.” He flashed a slight smile.
“But here’s the deal. We have a lot of stuff to tell you. And we’d like you to tell us some stuff, too,” he paused, sensing my hesitation, “if, and only if, you want to. Okay?” He waited for me to shake my head yes.
“I’ll start with the basics.” Erik let go of my hand and sat in the chair next to my bed. “I don’t know if you noticed, but I’m a little like you.” I glanced over at him, unsure of what he was trying to tell me. “You see what I mean? Not everyone can do this.”
I looked at him confused. Not do what? I thought. This guy is cute but not at all good at explaining things in clear and simple terms.
“So you think I’m cute, huh?” I looked up to see him smiling. “And by the way, I think my explanation is very clear. You just need to pay attention.”
“I AM paying attention!” I said loudly. And then it hit me. My voice had filled what had been a silent room. Nobody had spoken for at least a minute. Erik hadn’t said anything. And yet we were having a conversation. A two-way conversation—without spoken words. He could read thoughts! That’s why he said we were alike.

TRUE STORY – I had totally dreamed about being told about my sister dying. It happened the exact same way I dreamed about it… That was the most deja vu I have ever experienced.
Cool. Thanks for sharing that, Emily. I have occasionally felt a sense of deja vu, but never really had it be something important. Just felt like I had been there, done that.
Very sci-fi – I love it. I’d like to believe that telepathy is possible.
I just love the sound of this book. The cover was pretty and that was why I checked it out. I really want to read this!!
Oh Sherry my email is guido.emily@gmail.com I have more instances of deja vu and each one was about big things, but nothing quite on the scale as sis passing away. Like one time I dreamt about an accident in the snow with my car. The next day it snowed, and I started to lose control of the car but because I saw it, I turned my wheels a different way and I went on the side instead of going into a car. That was when I first came to New Jersey… I know or my belief is… I get these insights from Angels preparing me! Just saying… Stupid to everyone… accept me, but it happens! Take care and lots of love, Emily
I’m so sorry about your sister Emily.
It sounds like angels really are looking out for you.! That car scene could have been so different.
Hugs,
Laura
I’ve got your email in my address book so no worry, Emily. I don’t think it is stupid at all. I know two people very close to me who believe in psychics and near death experiences. Maybe some of us are just more in tune with it than others. I love reading comments and books and watching TV about things like that. I would like to think there is more out there than just us – human beings. Thanks again.
When I was in middle school I had a new friend who invited me to spend the night at her home. While we were sitting in the kitchen her mother, whom I had never met before, in the course of our conversation proceed to tell me about three different times where I almost died. All of the information she told me was true and there was not way she could have known about these events. She proceeded to tell me that I was being watched over and gave me the name of the person. I did not know who this was and later when talking to my aunt I mentioned this person and the experience in passing. She told me this was my fraternal grandfather who died before my dad was born and as I was not close with that side of the family there was no reason I would have heard his name before – theme from twilight zone playing in my head. There has to be more than what my puny brain can comprehend so perhaps anything is possible. Thank you for sharing. I think The Samantha Project sounds awesome and would love to read it.

All I can say is WOW. I am skeptical about it all, but try to keep an open mind. There is too much out there that cannot be explained to my satisfaction. Thank you so much for sharing your story. I found it very interesting!!! Good luck in the Giveaway.
I’ve had many instances of deja vu, but no real physchic experiences, unless you include knowing what someone is going to say before they say it. That’s probably intuition.
Sounds like a great read. Thanks Sherry.
I agree about the intuition. I have had that happen too. Either intuition or it’s just easy to know what is coming next. Like the dialogue in a movie. Thanks Laura.
I believe that some may have this ability, but unfortunately, I have yet to meet anyone with this ability. I have used intuition or a gut feeling and have seen others use intuition as well, but that’s about it. Thank you for the chance to win 🙂

I believe in intuition, too. Who knows what is out there, just because we can’t see it or touch it. Thanks for commenting.
I believe soul mates have some sort of telepathic vibes going on. If it’s your soul mate, how could they not? Just my opinion.
Makes perfect sense to me. ^_^
I believe in mental telepathy. I sometimes follow my intuition and am right. I do not know anyone yet who has that ability . I wish I could communicate that way
I wonder about that myself. Just yesterday an author commented on my blog and I had just started reading her book. Funny how that happens sometimes. Telepath, intuition, ESP, who knows? Thanks for stopping by and good luck.
I do not know of anyone with paranormal gifts, but wish I did! I am totally hooked on the TV shows of paranormal activity and would love to be on an investigation one day. I would also love to be able to connect with the ones that have passed on. That would be AWESOME!
