I had to laugh at myself, sitting here with tears in my eyes as I watch and listen to this.
It brought back some (good?) memories. I got kicked out of school for three days in Junior High School for smoking in the bathroom. In the school yearbook, under my name, they put Puff The Magic Dragon.
Hope you take a moment, sit back, relax and reminisce.

Hey Puff! LOL
I got kicked out too but no mention in the year book! My mention was for the burgersaurus. I was always getting a burger from the cafeteria and nibbling on it in class!
I used to sing this song all the time when I was young:)
LOL. Burgersaurus. That is hilarious. I have always loved this song. ^_^
Oh, the stuff we had to live down that was written in our yearbooks! Thanks for sharing, Sherry; I always loved that song. :0)
LOL I have always loved it to.
As you may recall, this song holds a special place in my heart as well.
Eventually, there was silence as a cloud of dust slowly rose from the newly encased tomb. Everyone stood frozen, listening. But all was quiet within.
Jess came to stand beside Lauren, who promptly turned her face away from him.
“Are you crying?!” he asked.
“It’s that song,” she nodded. “It gets me every time. First, little Jackie Paper doesn’t come back … and now … this.”
Laughing, Jess hugged her to him.
The paperback of Delta Legend is out next week and your sister is quoted on the back. Will send you a copy for giveaway. The two of you are making quite a splash in the literary blogger world—both being quoted on book covers! Who would have thought a couple of high school hooligans would end up as literary reviewers with a bounty of followers worldwide. Keep up the good work, Puff.
I thought I may hear from you. ^_^ That is awesome she is on the cover. I can hardly wait to see it. I guess it just shows what someone can accomplish when they apply themselves. LOL
Kids can be so mean. It’s amazing that we ever survive it.
My High School finally gave in and had a designated smoking area. Most parents didn’t like it, but for those of us who didn’t smoke, it was wonderful. The bathrooms were practically empty and no longer smoke filled!
Love the song!
Who knew you were a rebel, Sherry! Oh well, you turned out GREAT!
I know what you mean. Some time after I graduated, they did the same thing for the smokers at the high school. They are going to do it, so why not keep the other areas clean for the non smokers. I quit smoking about six years ago, but still snitch one every now and then. ^_^ I guess I was a bit of a rebel, maybe I still am?? I’m not saying. Thanks so much Taylor.
This is one of my favorite songs from my youth. Lots of comments on smoking here, but were they “funny” cigarettes or just the ordinary kind. The funniest scene in “Meet the Fokkers” was Robert DeNiro saying he loved the song, and his son-in-law to be looks at him and starts laughing. Ah, the generation gap.
At that time I didn’t even know about funny cigarettes. My older sister used to call me goodie two shoes. lol She walked on a little bit of a wilder side and I was always trying to follow her around because of all the cool stuff she did.
