LATEST HAPPENINGS
Hello everyone. Here it is, another week gone by and its been the same as the week before. I have been doing some work in the yard, but the heat that I love so much has become my enemy in my ‘golden years’. I seem to overheat easily…and it’s only 90 outside. LOL Do you remember those days, when you could hang on the beach, drink all day, and continue the party inside? Well, I do and it amazes me in hindsight. I still love the heat, I just need to be floating in the pool to appreciate it as much as I used to. 🙂
Hope you had a good week and another comes your way. Take care and stay safe.

TACKLING THE TBR
I got the idea and the motivation to start doing Tackling The TBR from All The Book Blog Names Are Taken. It has helped me to keep track of my reading shelf as far as current events and I also started doing a post for Books From The Backlog, from Carole’s Random Life in Books, to tidy up my shelves. I feel better about my out of control TBR and have even knocked off a couple of those old ones that had been hanging around for years. COME ON….JOIN IN.

I hear ya on the heat thing. (Cold, too, for me.) Must be hormone-related.
So with you on the heat. But I’ve never really tolerated the heat well. The only way I can handle it now is like you mentioned… while in the pool. 🙂
Funny thing about the heat: my husband always says, when someone from up north asks how we stand the heat here in Texas, “Well, all I can say is that I never shoveled heat a day in my life!” And that is certainly true.
I’m glad you are able to take control of your TBR. I have a different solution. I give books a good year and if I haven’t read them, out they go. Good luck with your project.
Have a great week!
Oh absolutely, I used to spend ours every day in the blazing sun with not a thought, now though I am sweaty and exhausted the minute it gets anywhere near 90!
Wishing you a great reading week
I’m lovin’ your tone and I think coming to your site today helped me learned how to comment on other wordpress sites even though I use blogger. thanks!
I remember back “in the day” when I was young and would spend days with my grands while my folks worked that we really paid no mind to the heat as much and didn’t even have air conditioning (yep showing my age here). All they had were those big window fans for air. I dont see how we survivied without air now though! LOL
I remember those days, Sherry. If I didn’t have the pool, I probably wouldn’t go outside now. LOL I have got to get The Forest!
Yeah I never liked the heat. But I lived in Iowa and Minnesota so that worked out okay most of the year. I am being horrible about yard work because this is the worst couple of weeks for heat and rain, which also adds to humidity. I look forward to 80s rather than 90s in a couple weeks. Then it will be a great 4 months or so.
You seem to be keeping steady on the TBR.
Anne – Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
I never had those days where I liked sitting outside in 90° heat, but not all 90° days are created equally. It was not even 80 here the other day, but the humidity made it so oppressive. A dry day is one I welcome with open arms.
Amazing haul! Yes, I love the heat but need to be near water.. i swear I am part fish 🙂
Not too shabby, only up by one! I went up by two and at this point I’m not even worried – as long as I don’t jump up by like, fifty. Happy Reading!
I hate the heat! I think I’m afraid to track my TBR LOL.
