Hi Sherry,
You have so much great stuff crammed into this week’s post, that I just don’t know where to start.
Congratulations on you couple of wins, they really are the best sort of new finds, aren’t they? ‘Missing In Paradise’ has to have the zaniest cover I have seen for a long time, what young person would be able to pass this one by on the shelves!
The cover of ‘Second Summer’ also had me reaching for the Goodreads page to find out more. Whilst I am not a huge fan of contemporary romance, this one does sound as though it has a bit more substance to the story, as the two main protagonists are mature and wordly wise and therefore more likely to have something interesting to say.
I was totally intrigued by the cover of ‘Three Sisters’ and convinced that this was going to be a ‘keeper’ for me. How much more disappointed could I have been, when I checked out the synopsis. I have enjoyed a good ‘mystery caper’ in the past, but the mere mention of a circus troupe had me running in the other direction – I hate the circus or fun fair and always have. I am still not sure about the relevance of the cover art to the storyline, perhaps I just don’t get it!
Enjoy all your great new reads and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Yvonne
Yvonne, thanks so much for your in depth comment. I hope that will help others choose what books look good to them. 🙂 I am not sure about the circus, either, but it peaked my interest and made me want to know more. Sometimes there is just a little something that catches me and I’m not always sure if I will like it or not, but want to look into it further.
Dead Eye looks cool, congrats on the win. You did really good keeping the intake low. Stay warm and happy reading 🙂
I love the title and the cover. Hope you are able to keep warm too. 🙂 I think our bout of cold has passed and spring is in the air.
Nice haul Sherry. I really enjoyed Three Sisters and curious what you think of it. I see some different genres for you this week!
Yeah, I need a change of pace. If I read too much of one genre, I find them all blending together and that is not good for the books. Need to shake myself up. lol
I am definitely curious about Three Sisters…enjoy your books, and thanks for visiting my blog.
I have heard things about it and look forward to reading it and find out for myself.
I consider myself to be snowed in today, even though my husband is at work and school is still in session. It wasn’t that bad first thing this morning, but now it’s coming down like crazy and I have no intention of going anywhere!!!
That being said, I’m glad I have my heated throw, warm slippers, my heater that seems to never shut off, my laptop, and a new book to write. Life is good!!!!
Sounds like you have a great plan, Taylor. Enjoy! We are having rain and my heater shuts off, I just want it warm enough that it doesn’t come on at all. LOL
