LATEST HAPPENINGS
Hello fellow bloggers. How are you today?
It’s been a good week, even with a tropical storm going through. We had a couple inches of rain and the wind knocked off those pesky loose and dead branches. That’s probably the biggest danger we faced…getting hit by a branch. Sometimes I find them stabbed into the ground and I would hate for it to stab into me. 🙂 Now, the sun is shining intensely and it’s in the 80’s. Bring it on. Summer is my favorite season.
We had to put Phoenix away because the high wind wanted to take it awayyyyyyyyy.
And…the Phoenix rises to live another day in our little bit of paradise.
I hope everyone is staying safe and doing well.

We seem to be getting rain 5 days a week the few weeks. It’s been a gorgeous weekend in the 70s and wind from the north here, but coming up are 5 days of rain. oh well I won’t have to water the new plants / grass.
Happy reading, stay well!
Anne – Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
happy to see you look for the positive. have a great week anne
Glad you are no worse for the wear after the storm. I am counting our blessings, that it wasn’t worse. I am not sure any state can handle any more disaster these days. Looks like fun times in the pool. Enjoy!
hard to stay positive, but this is our little piece of paradise and we appreciate having it, so i am going to make the most of it
We spent all yesterday cutting dead branches off our trees because they were about to fall on somebody. The yard is safer now. I hope you have a great week!
yeah, the storm does seem to clear out those widow makers and with several oak trees around the house i always have to clean up before mowing. i’d love to get rid of them all…but that’s a bad thing????
We were shocked to see that the tropical storm completely missed us. I’m sorry it veered your way, but I’m glad you didn’t have damage. My son in Chicago got some of that storm!
Quarrelsome Quartz does not look quarrelsome. In fact, Quartz looks quite quiet and quaint.
my son in michigan got some of it too. yes, watson is pretty content as long as he gets his treats
I love the huge pink news. Wish we had a pool. But it isn’t warm enough most of the year to make it practical. My Sunday Salon post
i never really wanted or had one until we moved to florida and then it was a requirement to me. it is a bit like a boat….break out another thousand, but at this stage in our lives it’s all about what we enjoy and can afford
It’s almost monsoon season here where we’ll be getting high winds, hail, flash flooding and thunderstorms. Having pieces of tree’s and sticks flying at high rates of speed at you is scary.
hope you don’t get hit too hard. here we have a lot of pop up thunderstorms too and i can deal just fine with those. stay safe mary
I love the photo! I’m glad that you escaped the worst of the storm. We’re still waiting to get our fence fixed from when the storm blew it down in November! But with lockdown here, the fence builder can’t get started on anything at the moment, which is frustrating.
i feel it. we were going to do major updates to the house…you know kitchen, bathroom and floors, but now we are just hoarding out money, wondering if mr wonderful will need to retire early…and that will cost us a lot of cash. i don’t care, we just need to make sure we have it. florida is open for business. i don’t feel we ever really closed and they are pretty freaking careless around here. it scares me!!!!!!
Ha! Love your comment about the branches sticking into the ground—yes, you definitely wouldn’t want to be in one’s path!
yeah, it’s kinda freaky. i was talking to mr wonderful the other day and talking about the acorns that fall. it’s surprising how much they hurt. glad it only happens once a year. lol
My mother is from Seminole County and they were dealing with that mess too. Glad the sun is shining.
glad to know everyone is okay…and the sun is shining
It was the same here. Lots of branches and I’d just got my yard looking nice and neat. LOL
i’ve got the back cleaned up, just need to get to the front. there are a lot of biiiiig branches, but i’ll have it cleaned up today..i hope. glad to see you and cole made it through okay
