This is not my first walk on the dark side with Calvin Demmer. This short story collection brought horrible surprises to light and the evil stalking the pages never let up. Definitely cringe worthy. I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Through The Ravenous Night by Calvin Demmer.

I have enjoyed more than one book from Calvin Demmer, so I was excited when he offered me a copy of his latest horror novella, Faster. So, let’s hit the road….
Brock Johnson had made a deal with the devil and I wonder when the final payment will come do. Brock had managed to circumvent it…at least for a while. He had always feared someone like Mick would come along. Whew! And Delilah? Oh man, it ended way too soon. And now my mind wanders…good job, Calvin. I’ll be thinking about this for a while, especially whenever I’m on the road…wanting to drive FASTER. That earns an extra star. LOL

Brock Johnson made a deal to return home from the war—alive. It’s a contract that follows him throughout his days, a contract he can’t escape. Or can he? One night on the road, he must decide whether to keep running or surrender. . . Either choice has its price.
A short story.

Sylvia was searching for a good story to kick off her journalism career and almost immediately I thought I knew how the story would go…but not quite. Calvin Demmer wasn’t going to make it quite that easy for me.
Suicide Bridge…36 cases. Why had she never heard of it before?
I can guess. There’s something going on and everyone in town wants to keep it a secret.
Suitably creepy for an easy reading short story.

doesn’t want to end up on a dead-end path like a former journalism
colleague. She begins searching the tabloid’s archives for a story that
can get her career back on track. A strange bridge, with an abnormally
high rate of suicides, seems like the perfect place to start. She
journeys to the little town, eager to investigate, but encounters a tale
far more sinister than she ever expected…
