Meet the Author:

As a teacher, spiritual director, and retreat leader, Sally Metzger has helped young people discover God’s boundless love for them for over 20 years. She developed and taught a course in faith formation for university students, religion teachers, youth ministers, and parents, and she is the author of two children’s books, Night of Mysterious Blessings and Jesus, Were You Little?

Sally has a Master of Theological Studies degree, focusing on pastoral care, and is active in chaplain ministry. Her message: It’s Raining Grace! And through God’s power, we can find and joyfully fulfill our purpose in life. Sally is married to her high school sweetheart, cherishes her children and grandchildren, and enjoys outdoor adventures and travel.

Unicorn Island is a magical story that has everything a young mind could want in an adventure, with plenty of fantasy and fact to inspire…the young and the old alike.

Foggy Harbor has begun to feel like home since Sam made a friend and discovered a magical island full of unicorns and other magical creatures. Now…their immortality is threatened and she searches for a cure, finding a secret from her past that links her to the future of the herd.

Sam had learned her Uncle Mitch’s legacy was to protect the herd and keep the secret of the island that was hidden by a fog bank. He was training Sam and her friend, Tuck, to be unicorn protectors.

When Donna Galanti mentioned elephants evolution and tusks (yes, I am talking real elephants), I had to check it out and see if it was real. I urge you to do the same.

I loved this wonderful adventure into the magical world of Unicorn Island, with fabulous characters and magical creatures that work together to save the unicorns and the island. Not only does it have a gorgeous cover, but it holds factual tidbits at the end of the story to inspire young minds.

5 Stars? An emphatic yes! Two thumbs up? No doubt!

A Christmas Kindness by Cheryl C Malandrinos and illustrated by Caroline Mabey is a wonderful story depicting one of life’s lessons, the value of a gift, no matter how big or how small.

Eight year old Robert wants nothing more than to tell Santa what he wants for Christmas. He even wrote it down so he wouldn’t get it wrong. What a wonderful time to share in the innocence and wonder of a child.

A Christmas Kindness by Cheryl C Malandrinos may have been written for children, but I loved it. Not only do we get a fabulous story that will put a smile on a parent’s face as they read it with their child, but it has interactive projects that anyone can do and the cost is minimal, sometimes repurposing some of those items that may have been tossed in the trash. I see many subjects that could come up as parents share this marvelous book with their children.

When one of the cubs asks, “Mom, why doesn’t Santa visit bears?”, this cute story unfolds as mama bear tells them why Santa doesn’t visit them on Christmas Eve, and Bo Bo’s solution to the problem puts a smile on my face, making me believe the saying, Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
