I have been reading Amanda Siegrist’s work for some time now, so to get a copy of Dark Consequences, which was published in March was wonderful. And we do have some hard choices that will need to made in this love story with a twist.
I love a story that grips me early and Dark Consequences by Amanda Siegrist does just that.
Abby was a secretary for a criminal defense attorney in Minnesota, but she knew how to take care of herself. She had moved there with her best friend, Brandon. She was happy with her life, but there was one thing missing, her brother, Cooper. He was a psychopath who murdered people without compunction.
A cop in love with a woman who’s brother killed his sister. NOW…he was going to hunt him down and exact his own revenge.
It had been love at first sight for him and Abby. How could they have a future? Abby was afraid that Tate was going to kill her brother, because he had killed his sister and her goal was to stop him. Who would find Cooper first?
WOW. The twists and turns in the many layered chilling mystery kept me ‘flipping pages’ to the very end. The characters are not all good or all bad, complex yet loyal to the end, willing to sacrifice whatever necessary to get the job done.
The romance was hot and heavy between Abby and Tate and I love the addition of Stromberg…the three Musketeers.
I love a story that keeps on giving and I see more of Consequences to be dealt with in my future.

he knows his entire life is over. Because nothing will stop him from

Abby Forrester

do everything in her power to protect him from ruining his life—and from
killing her brother. Even if she has to do the unthinkable. Turn
against him.
ABOUT AMANDA SIEGRIST
Love!
Gimme some love and heaps of romance. I have a sappy heart that just
loves two people meeting, going through the cycles of a relationship,
and ultimately, falling in love. Give me a good book like that and I’m a
happy camper:)
I write contemporary and romantic suspense, but I am partial to suspense. I just love a good mystery.
Besides writing, I love baking, crafts, and baseball…oh, and meeting new people. *smiles*
It is the future, 2042, and he is a killer, a warrior for the angels in the upcoming battle between good and evil. He is a Nephilim, born from a human mother and an angel father, fighting on the side of the angels in the coming Great Struggle.
Technology…to the point where what you see is not always what you get. What looks all shiny and new can be a pile of junk.
Very interesting technological angle. I love a story that makes me question…Just because we can,, should we?
Then my conspiracy gene rises up…is there an ulterior motive?
Devil’s Dance is the second book in the in this thrilling Nephilim series. Jeff Altabef does a fantastic job of creating a world of possibilities and humanity’s ability to rise to the occasion. I love stories of battles between good and evil with otherworldly characters. They make me stretch my imagination and let the author take me away…into a fantasy world where everything is possible.

An amazing new technology engineered to make people smarter, a series of gruesome murders, and a mystery so dark, it threatens everyone.
I’m a Nephilim, born of a fallen angel father and a human mother. This makes me special in ways I don’t fully comprehend yet.
A
war is brewing between angels and demons, and like it or not, we’ll all
have to choose sides. I’ve chosen the side of angels, a curious
decision for me, not only because I’m a killer, but because I enjoy
killing. Still, an angel promised me that redemption is possible—even
for me—and he needed warriors on his side. Did he tell me the truth? I
hope so, but who can I trust?
In a small, sleepy, tourist town, an
old friend asks me to help solve a series of gruesome murders that have
been plaguing the town, but these aren’t just random crimes. Somehow,
they’re connected to this war between angels and demons. I prefer
working alone, not having to worry about others, but I team up with a
self-described anti-technology hooligan, and a beautiful bartender I
immediately fall for. If only they knew what I know. The foe we’re
facing is way more powerful than anything they can imagine.
I must solve the mystery before it’s too late, because I’m certain of this one thing: everyone’s soul is at stake.

Dinosaur Lake V…what can I say? Kathryn Meyer Griffith had told me the series was over, but the characters wouldn’t quit talking to her. I LOVE THAT! And she blew me away with the fifth book in the series. How she keeps her stories fresh and original is amazing and that is why she is one of my go to authors.
I LOVE that fabulous cover. Doesn’t it draw you in, making you want to know more? Dawne Dominique does her covers and I would love to tell her she does an A+ job.
Woo Hoo! It has been five years since the Dino Wars and I have spent any time with Henry and Ann. I am so glad to visit and catch up on what’s been happening…and will happen.
The dinosaurs, at least most of them, are gone. BUT, knowing Kathryn Meyer Griffith, the horror is yet to come. They had lived through some interesting times. They were prepared, if the dinosaurs returned. My question is…many of the characters I got involved with in the early books are gone, so who is left to kill off, Kathryn?
I love that Anne has a money making blog. Seems a natural progression from the newspaper she had worked for, owned, then sold. It seemed Kathryn didn’t think dinosaurs were bad enough, she had to give her cancer too. But she was in remission and they spent a lot of their time enjoying their golden years from the front porch of their cabin and traveling. She even got Henry to let her use some of his photographs from their adventures.
Their home is not their beloved cabin at Crater Lake, but they worked hard to make it into one they love.
Henry had retired, but he was still ‘the man’ as far as the Rangers were concerned. He knew everything there was to know about Crater Lake, so when Oscar came knocking on the window, he was notified…ASAP.
How smart are the dinosaurs? Can they think complex thoughts? Do they hold grudges? Do they want revenge?
Henry had a small edge over other humans. His visitor, Oscar. He likes and respects Henry. He also needs ‘the sticks’ to help him. There are no such things as unicorns, demons, or evil dinosaurs. But, in my world, there is.
Oscar stole the show! You can’t kill him off Kathryn. He’s a hero, risking it all for his special friend, Henry, and his progeny.
Excellent tension and pacing. The feeling of impending doom oozes from every page. I wait. I fear.
WOW, I didn’t see that coming and I love it. Book surprises are the best.
My biggest question, Kathryn…will there be more? I love that some of the characters refuse to die, refuse to go away, haunting your dreams, demanding more. Is there more of the story to be told?

The predatory dinosaurs,
amphibious, land-crawlers, air flyers, small and large, were dead; dead
in all the forests, mountains, deserts, towns and cities of America and
across the planet. They were still hunted, sought and exterminated when
found, and these rogue beasts were becoming rarer every day. The
humans’ dinosaur killing serum and extermination practices had worked
far better than anyone had prayed and they had eventually freed the
planet of its primordial scourge. The earth belonged to the humans once
more and all its lands were safe–or so the world, Henry Shore, former
Chief Park Ranger at Crater Lake National Park, and his wife, Ann, had
believed…until one day years later two new dinosaurs, craftier than any
the earth had ever seen, appeared. One of them was benevolent, a friend
to mankind, and the other was not. It was blood-thirsty, eerily
intelligent and unbelievably vengeful. This dinosaur wouldn’t be so easy
to kill. *** Dinosaur Lake V: Survivors is the fifth book in the

ABOUT KATHRYN MEYER GRIFFITH
Since childhood I’ve been an artist and worked as a graphic designer in
the corporate world and for newspapers for twenty-three years before I quit to
write full time. But I’d already begun writing novels at 21, over forty-six
years ago now, and have had twenty-seven (nine romantic horror, two horror
novels, two romantic SF horror, one romantic suspense, one romantic time
travel, one historical romance, four thrillers, one non-fiction short story
collection, and six murder mysteries) previous novels, two novellas and twelve

self-published all of them. My Dinosaur Lake novels and Spookie Town Murder

I’ve been married to Russell for over forty years; have a son, two

greatest passion, my butterfly stage, and I’ll probably write stories until the

This is not my first taste of Liesel K Hill’s work and it won’t be my last. If you are into dystopian worlds, serial killers and murder, Street Games may be for you.
I am excited to be back in Kyra’s dystopian world in Damaged Hope, Street Games #3, by Liesel K Hill. Kyra is the strong female character I love to read about. In is cheap.this desp0perate, dystopian world, life
Kyra’s not herself. She’s in BIG trouble. Some want her dead, some want to use her, and one wants to love her. She is stubborn, obstinate, confident in her ability to survive the Mire. Every time she turns around, she’s getting her ass kicked, covered in cuts and bruises. She can’t quit…she searches…
Gabe is a cop that has become enamored with Kyra.
Missing and dead children, prostitutes, one killer or two, a slow burning relationship, and fantastic world building.
Tense, dangerous, teeth gritting moments.
Nothing is smooth sailing. The characters will put it all on the line for each other. Not all will survive and not all questions will be answered. The pacing keeps the thrills coming, one after another some high, some low, and I want more. I must know the end of Kyra’s story.
“It’s all a game. Brothers and killers. Rivals and customers. The Mire and mobsters. Alleys and streets. All games. Games we must conquer, or else disappear into the gaping maw of this city.”

For Gabe, the mystery surrounding his brother’s disappearance twenty-five years ago deepens as the suspect in custody is questioned, but speaks in riddles. If Gabe can decipher Hammond’s strange clues, perhaps he can finally bring his brother’s body home and obtain some closure. That is, if he can stay one step ahead of the murders in the Mire.
Kyra and Gabe face new, darker challenges in their search for missing brothers. Every victory brings setbacks and complications. They have little to push them forward now except determination and hope. Even if it is a Damaged Hope.

Britney King loves to deliver a twisted, psychological thriller that makes it almost impossible to put down. Her is another fantastic addition to my reading list and I can hardly wait for more.
The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off. Joe Klaus
With an opening like that, I grit my teeth and clench my hands tightly around my ereader, anticipating another fabulous psychological thriller from Britney King…and I was not disappointed.
When I read the Prologue, I thought, “I wonder what she is setting me up for.”
Britney King is very creative when it comes to her villains. Many times she has me rooting for them, making me love them and wanting things to work out for them.
Be careful thinking the grass is greener on the other side. It may be infested with evil.
Sadie…she is finding out that once you are in, you are never out. Now, how can I turn my back on her. I am bopping along, at a steady pace, watching her be manipulated, twisted, and perverted into keeping some nefarious secrets.
Secrets, betrayal…how can she live like that?
Britney King has a way of taking a normal neighborhood and with her casual air creates a location of danger and death. Somehow her imagination comes up with way of surprising me, jerking me out of an I know this attitude.

“After four, I quit counting. What’s the point if you know it isn’t going to stop?”
Sadie is jealous. Why wouldn’t she be? Her life is falling apart. Meanwhile, her new neighbor is everything she is not.

to die for. She hosts over-the-top dinner parties, takes parenting to an
entirely different level, and makes ambition look sexy as hell.
Sadie
learns quick: the best way to cure jealousy is to befriend it. She also
learns there’s more to her new friend than meets the eye. She’s
patient, she’s kind, and possibly a serial killer.
It isn’t
until Ann’s proclivities hit a little too close to home that Sadie has
to ask herself how much she’s willing to overlook in the name of getting
what she wants.
Exquisitely paced, Her is an unnerving and electrifying psychological thriller about jealousy, passion, and the dangerous places desire can take you. Full of enough tension and twists to make even the most seasoned suspense reader break out in a cold sweat, it keeps you guessing until the very last page.
ABOUT BRITNEY KING
Britney
King writes psychological, domestic, and romantic thrillers set in
suburbia. She is currently writing three series and several standalone
novels.
The Bedrock series (psychological/domestic/romantic thriller)
features an unlikely heroine who should have known better. Turns out,
she didn’t. Thus she finds herself tangled in a messy, dangerous,
forbidden love story and face-to-face with a madman hell-bent on
revenge. The series has been compared to Fatal Attraction, Single White
Female, and Basic Instinct.
The Water Trilogy (psychological/domestic/romantic thriller) follows
the shady love story of an unconventional married couple– he’s an
assassin–she kills for fun. It has been compared to a crazier version of
Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Also, the hit series Dexter.
Around The Bend, is a heart-pounding standalone (romantic
suspense/domestic/psychological thriller), which traces the journey of a
well-to-do suburban housewife, and her life as it unravels, thanks to
the secrets she keeps. If she were the only one with things she wanted
to keep hidden, then maybe it wouldn’t have turned out so bad. But she
wasn’t.
The With You series (romantic suspense/contemporary romance) is a
coming of age, friends to lovers, second chance (plus a few) love story
about unlikely friends who travel the world; trying to find themselves,
together and apart. It has been compared to Love, Rosie.

The cover wasn’t the only thing that had me eager to read David Barnett’s My Hungry Friend. The title makes me wonder…Who’s hungry and who will be eaten. LOL
Running the gauntlet of the homeless that are collected on the block, he makes the biggest mistake of his life.
“Everything’s got a price,” she said.
And he was going to pay it!
Is it real, or all in his head?
Will he take anyone down with him?
I wondered.
Spiders…one of the creepiest critters to crawl the face of the earth. Just thinking of, writing about them, makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck and chills run up and down my spine. That is the kind of scary I like. Not Jason coming at me with a chain saw.
The subtle creepiness and anticipation of what is to come gives me plenty of time to watch his world crumble.
The writing is great and the story is haunting.

B P Smythe has created some despicable characters, but to counter the bad, we need to have the good. There is tons of action and characters that have their individual stories, and they come together the story becomes clear.

Commander Gregory Potting is a
former head of MI6 Intelligence and the governments most trusted Senior

His position is put to the test in

his clients.
Francis Hodder is a transsexual who preys on gay men. As a child he is abused by his father who is head of government security. Francis becomes an embarrassment to MI6 because of his gender leaning. He is brainwashed to become a Sleeper assassin triggered by code words to kill personnel who threaten government security. Francis becomes a manipulated pawn, who by mistake during a sexual encounter with a Black September terrorist, uncovers plans for a deadly attack on a densely crowded popular sports event to kill thousands of people to further the cause of EL Fatah and Black September.

collected short stories. My first book titled – ‘From a Poison Pen’ is

happens when a member of the Hitler youth ends up in a concentration
camp? How does a beach side cocktail get in the way the way of one
woman’s scheming? What leads a teenage girl to reign down fire and
brimstone? When a doctor buries his mistake, can he get away with it?
This collection of dark, humorous and macabre tales explores the disturbing side of human nature.
When I read The Manchurian Candidate by Richard Condon, I was fascinated while exploring true accounts of government sleeper programmes set up during the Korean war and the east west cold war. I have been reading the Scion Chronicles since the beginning, The Daughter of Nothing by Eric Kent Edstrom. Sister of Shadows is the third book and all I can say is Eric did not let me down.
The evil of humanity oozes from the pages in the third book, Sister of Shadows by Eric Kent Edstrom. I am loving the series and can hardly wait to see how he wraps it up in the fourth and final book.
Sister of Shadows picks up where Child of Lies left off, so reading in order is necessary. I have loved each story, watching the children struggle to survive as they discover who they really are and why they were ‘born’.
The topic raises ethical and moral issues, while pointing out how power and money corrupt and some people will stop at nothing to get what they want.
I have a lot of notes, but because this is the third book, I tossed them to the wind. I will not spoil all the twists, turns and surprises that Eric has piled onto these resilient children. I have watched them grown and develop into young adults, pushed beyond anything they ever could have conceived. I have watched their leadership skills rise to the forefront, their maturity and creativity grow at a fast pace, forced because of their circumstances.
They make a run for freedom, for life, and the treachery and danger that follows them kept me in suspense, wondering who will survive, because Eric doesn’t hesitate to kill off his characters. I hope they haunt him at night. LOL One of my favorite newbies is Meow Meow and if you read the story you will see why. This girl is off the charts, afraid of nothing.
I find the story unique and original, and it sticks in my head. It is hard to surprise me with something new and different, so this is a refreshing story. A story that keeps on giving a high level of tension and pacing, keeping my total attention.
I laughed, I cried, I raged and I sighed…knowing Eric has more to come.

“SWEET DREAMS is packed with action, suspense, romance, betrayal, death, and mystery.” —Drew Maples, author of 28 Yards from Safety
