OMG…Talk about a book surprise…BLEW…MY…MIND…and I love it!!!!!!
There are a lot of triggers, so read with care.
Alexandra…an amazing character. The writing is off the charts, pulling out all the feels and smacking me in the face. With the excellent writing and the surprisingly creative storyline and characters, I challenge you to tell me you didn’t shed a tear or two, I won’t believe you. This severely damaged child/woman, who, when faced with a situation she never could have ever imagined calls for her to face her fears and change her life…One minute I wanted to reach through my Kindle and slug someone, the next puke my guts out, the next wrap them in my arms. The ending…AMAZING and I NEED to know what happens next.
When I read the blurb, it made me think that The Savant of Chelsea by Suzanne Jenkins would stand alone and I could decide what I wanted the rest of her life to be…but I see there are two more books…AND I WANT THEM!

Any time I get a chance to read a Jane Blythe novel, my heart skips a beat. She can sure pen a romantic suspense novel that makes you want to read until the last page is turned.
Tis the season..for murder and mayhem, love and laughter, and the magic of Christmas.
Sixteen young women dead, and Ashley Fallon is the only survivor of an attack by the serial killer. BUT, he wants her and will stop at nothing to get her.
Sawyer Watson is her best friend, he has been in love with her for many years. She is oblivious. They are thrown together after the attack and he becomes her bodyguard.
Ashley loves snow, snowmen and Christmas. Don’t miracles come true at Christmas? Could one come true for her? The killer being caught so she can go back to her life. But after being with Sawyer 24/7, can life ever be normal again?
Ashley is sweet and a bit naive, but she has a lot of fight in her.
I had my heart in my throat early in the story. A woman’s worst nightmare: snatched from behind, drug into an alley, raped and, almost, killed. He revels in killing. It is fun for him and he will not stop, until someone stops him. We know he wants the one that got away, so she becomes a target.
Months have passed and Christmas is right around the corner. Knowing a showdown has to be coming, I am waiting…waiting…tension builds. Like any serial killer, he feels he has do it, whatever it takes.
Characters from previous novels make an appearance and it adds a little extra to the story. None of them have had an easy life, so they will protect their own, with their lives, if necessary. Jane Blythe’s novels do that a lot, but it’s not necessary to read the previous novels. Though, if you are just starting the series, I highly recommend starting at the beginning. I loved each and every one and she manages to make each book unique in its own way.

ABOUT JANE BLYTHE
Jane
has loved reading and writing since she can remember. She writes dark
and disturbing crime/mystery/suspense with some romance thrown in
because, well, who doesn’t love romance? She has one completed series,
Detective Parker Bell, and one new series, Count to Ten.
When she’s not writing Jane loves to
read, bake, go to the beach, ski, horse ride, and watch Disney movies.
She has a black belt in Taekwondo, and a 200+ collection of teddy bears.
She has the world’s two most sweet and pretty Dalmatians, Ivory and
Pearl. Oh, and she also enjoys spending time with family and friends!
I am a huge fan of D V Berkom’s Leine Basso and Kate Jones series, starring some strong female protagonists. I have had many hours of reading pleasure and was super excited when I received a copy of her Claire Whitcomb Western Collection. A new genre for her, but I have no doubt it will be a hit.
Retribution: D V Berkom hooked me from the opening pages and I know I am going to love Claire, as she is forced to grown and change, from a family woman who watched her entire family be murdered to a gun totin’ force to be reckoned with. Woo Hoo…Let’s get on with it. “Don’t let them win Claire.” It was Josiah’s voice in her head, as surely as if he”d spoken the words aloud. And she vowed then and there to do just that. I should have known that D V Berkom would pot a twist that I never anticipated. Even though Claire wanted to crawl into the grave with her family, that was not to be. The law enforcement was enough to piss me off, so I can only imagine how she would have felt. Typical treatment of a woman and I love that if they weren’t going to look for the slaughterers of her family, she would do it herself. Riveting, suspenseful.
Gunslinger: She had met some wonderful people in Leadville, who had come to her aid when she was her most desperate. She would use what she had learned to become a Gunslinger. Action from the getgo causes her to draw her rifle and we’re off with a bang. I am sooooo loving this woman. She is headed to Tombstone, boarding her horse Rose at the OK Corral and having dinner with Doc Holiday and Wyatt Earp. OOOOO what fun. She loves wearing men’s clothing, but cleans up real nice when the situation calls for it. The characters and situations D V creates are colorful, delightful, and badass. Her research shines through her words.
Legend: We move to the next phase of Claire’s life as she accumulates more friends and more experiences. I so love this gun totin’, card playing, do the right thing wild west woman. Claire grows, facing new people and new challenges, and does not act on impulse. Will she find a new love? With what she’s been through, I feel she’s deserves a new love, a fresh start, a new adventure.
Overall: WOW. Congratulations D V. You did a fabulous job breaking into the world of the wild west. I love all the historical elements…from going west, to homesteading, Indians, murderers and thieves, gun toting, gold busting adventure. I loved meeting some western legends and traveling to some famous towns. The descriptions of the characters and the details of the 1800s brings Claire’s world to life. Will there be more Claire adventures? I sure hope so.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Claire Whitcomb by D V Berkom.
GOODREADS BLURB
‘Retribution’ is DV Berkom’s first western-themed novel, and first in this brief series centered on protagonist Claire Whitcomb. In a literally fiery opening, Claire is left homeless with her entire family killed before her eyes. Set in and around Leadville, Colorado in 1880, the story tells how Claire seeks help, then seeks justice, then seeks retribution.
One of the strongest aspects of this series is that Claire is blended in with a number of historical characters that add authenticity and intrigue to her adventures. Some of the larger-than-life real people you meet here have already had stories, poetry, and opera (really!) written and performed to this date.
In ‘Gunslinger,’ Claire leaves Leadville for Tombstone, Arizona Territory at the end of summer 1880 . She has an introductory letter to Wyatt Earp from her mentor, Leadville’s now-retired marshal, Mart Duggan, as she takes the newly connected railroad spur to Pueblo.
Along the way, Claire foils an attempted robbery of the train before they can safely traverse Royal Gorge. She takes on the role of security for a touring actress and her entourage and expects to ensure her safety on the way to Tombstone. Once arrived in the “town too tough to die,” Claire connects with the Earps and befriends Doc Holliday. She is further embroiled in the mystery of the attempts on the life of her thespian protectee and proves her worth as a true Gunslinger.
‘Legend’ opens in March 1881, and Claire has wintered in Tombstone without getting into too much trouble, but there are some clouds on her horizon, and not only late winter snow. In ‘Legend,’ Claire will have to sort out her ambitions as gunslinger and friend to Holliday and the Earps.
The saga winds back to Leadville, Colorado and finally on to Alaska.
Throughout this saga, Claire is developed as a complex character, Sadly, his may be the end of the short series
ABOUT D V BERKOM
DV Berkom is a slave to the voices in her head. As the author of two
popular thriller series (Leine Basso and Kate Jones), her love of
creating resilient, kick-*ss female characters stems from a lifelong

to find the female equivalent within those pages.
Raised in the Midwest, she received her
BA in political science from the University of Minnesota and promptly
moved to Mexico to live on a sailboat. Many, many cross-country moves
(and several years) later, she now lives just outside of Seattle,

Nick Clausen has done an amazing job with the Dead Meat series and I am totally invested in sticking with it til the end to see how he wraps it up. That being said, I have my fingers crossed that my favorite characters will still be alive when it is all said and done.
Brains. Brains. Brains. Zombies are everywhere. Nowhere is safe. And my favorite characters, Dan, a young man taking on the evils of his world, is determined to go home. What he will find there? Will it be the death of him? After all, Nick Clausen is not afraid to kill off his characters, and every time I find one I like, I worry…
Book 7 ended with a cliffhanger, and I would like to thank Nick for getting Book 8 written so quickly. I was hanging by a fingernail, because…well. I can’t really say. You will need to find out for yourself what I’m talking about.
As soon as I finished Chapter One, I could see that Nick was going to torture me the very end, and all I can say is…BRING IT ON.
More zombies. More heroics. More Death.
Many surprises and heart stopping moments, and another threat, other than zombies, hangs over their heads.
I have been amazed how Nick Clause has kept the series moving, able to keep me eagerly devouring the words, watching, wondering, how it will all end.
So much I could not anticipate and I loved it. Even though I am not sure how I feel about the ending for this book, once I started I couldn’t stop.

AMAZON SYNOPSIS
The end is getting closer and the last hope for humanity is dying. The hours tick by with lightning speed as our last survivors grasp for one more desperate attempt at stopping the pandemic before it can turn the entire world’s population into flesh eating corpses.
ABOUT NICK CLAUSEN
Born 1988 in North Jutland,
where I still live with my wife, who also happened to be my earliest
childhood girlfriend. From 2017 I have lived as a full-time writer. Up
until then, I had different jobs beside the writing. I have been
studying as a carpenter for three years, and have also read two years of
psychology at Aalborg University. It turned out that the writing had a
much more powerful pull on me.
I decided early on that I would be an author when I grew up. In
fact, the decision came to me already when I read my first book,
Snevampyren by Dennis Jürgensen. My first “real” stories I wrote at
14-15 years of age. They were rejected by the publisher, but still got
praise. There were some years when I was busy with being a teenager and
trying to get an education before I suddenly remembered that I should
be an author.
That day I made a promise
to write 1,000 words a day until I got a book published. I sat down and
started writing. I continued to write every single day for a year and a
half. I sent the finished manuscripts to different publishers, and the
rejections piled up. Twelve of them by the end. But each time I could
feel it was a little bit better. The criticism became more positive. The
thirteenth story was called Tidevandet, and it was adopted by the
publisher and came out a year later.
I have always enjoyed writing, although in the beginning I put a lot
of pressure on myself. My approach to the process has become much more
free over the years. For example, I no longer plan my stories. That
way, I feel that I’m experiencing the story while writing it and the
characters feel like real people. I do not know where the ideas come
from, but I’ve never had trouble finding them.
This is my first Cocky Hero novel, but I feel it will fit my reading style perfectly. After all, I am a huge fan of Jane Blythe and strong female protagonists.
Homicide detective Florence Harris is in a dumpster, looking for another body of more than a dozen found in the last eighteen months. What a way to start!
Florence had left the small town of River’s End to come to New York City. Definitely lots of action here, but she came up empty in this dumpster. The Dumpster Killer is escalating and she felt sure it would be here.
Eli Lennox is a real estate mogul who had grown tired of the ladies. Maybe he hadn’t met the right one, huh? He thought he’d finally found the right one and he is in hot pursuit.
Cocky men were Florence’s Krytonite…and Eli was verrrrrrry cocky. She went for boring, dull guys…they made her feel safe. I love a confident, not arrogant man…and stability. Don’t most of us ladies? Laughs and security? And a bit of the bad boy? Just to keep life interesting.
HE wasn’t afraid of being caught. Hard to be caught, if you are never seen…until Florence. That presents a problem for him. He doesn’t plan on being caught, but he loves killing and the more he kills, the more he craves the kill.
Eli is a wooer and I love him. My Mr Wonderful was a wooer too. Persistence, patience, and a great guy can wear down the resistance of the most prickly woman.
This Pretty Woman style romance….millionaire man and woman cop…WHEW. Steamy, hot romance with a couple of serial killers thrown in for good measure, because one is never enough. LOL

Florence Harris thought if she ever fell in love it would be with someone sweet, dependable, boring.
Nope.
Turns out she likes arrogant, annoying, ego so big it wouldn’t fit in the ocean Eli Lennox.
Just because he saved her life he thinks it gives him permission to meddle in it. He’s determined to save her from herself.
Problem is she thinks she’s beyond saving.
She’s beautiful, intelligent, and the sexiest woman Eli had ever laid eyes on, and she turns him down flat when he asks her out.
That doesn’t happen to him often.
Or ever.
And it makes him determined to prove to her she’s worth every ounce of effort he’s going to put into winning her heart.
Eli Lennox always gets what he wants.

I know Michaelbrent Collings from his fabulous, highly creative horror stories and am amazed by Synchronicity, which is a departure from his usual writing and I LOVE IT.
I have grabbed some freebies too and they are waiting….
I love Michaelbrent Collings’ work and he is a must read author for me. He writes some amazing horror stories, so it was a no brainer to grab something new and different from him, a science fiction, suspense technothriller, And WOW, another HIT.
They worked for SINC, Stress Induced Neural Connector. The machine.
Axel, Jade and Duffy are on the run. Their goal is to save the world. Book was just minding his own business, until…Kane had been Axel’s friend, but now…well…he’s an assassin.
Kane feels he is the God of Chaos. He revels in killing. Michaelbrent Collings writes some of the best villains ever and I do love a great bad guy.
1 of 5 stars – The fabulous characters
2 of 5 stars – Storyline
3 of 5 stars – Excellent writing and pacing
4 of 5 stars – Uniqueness and creativity
5 of 5 stars – Ending…
The characters are intriguing, making me guess at who was good and who was bad, until the story was told. Not all survive. Even the peripheral characters had their moment. I do love that Michaelbrent Collings can keep me twisting, turning, flipping through the pages nonstop, because I have to know what happens. To say I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Synchronicity does not do it justice.

Some call it the Machine. Some call it the SINC. It’s the most dangerous thing ever created. And it’s fallen into the wrong hands.
Tyler “Book” Malcolm has lived a life on the run. Off the grid, out of sight of the authorities. Hoping to escape a terrifying secret; to outrun what he has seen and what he has done.
Kane is an assassin who, with the help of the Machine, possesses the ability to assume the identity of anyone he wishes. He can strike without warning, and kill without mercy. Stronger than a dozen men, faster than sight itself, he can be anywhere, anytime.
When Book catches Kane’s eye, he discovers the world is even more dangerous than he knew. Book must ally himself with people who, like him, know that Kane is on the verge of remaking the world in his image.
But how do you know who to trust, when the man who wants you dead can be anyone he pleases?
How can you fight for the ones you love…
…when you can’t even believe who you see?

I am a huge fan of Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and the Librarian’s Assistant series. Each book can be read as a stand alone, but I have read 3 out of 6 and have the bookset for books 1-3, so I plan on reading books 2 and 3 in the very near future.
I got The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant Book I by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff on a free day. It led me down a biting good path of laughs, love and vampires. I started with a smile and a chuckle. That’s a good sign and something Mimi Jean Pamfiloff does with ease. Michael Vanderhorst wasn’t looking for work, but he couldn’t resist her. Now, he’s a library assistant. Even though he saw Miriam coming, he never could have anticipated the affect she would have on his life. Hilarious, suspenseful, mouth wateringly, delightfully addictive.

From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes a Horribly Sunny Mystery, The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant.
NOBODY MESSES WITH HIS LIBRARIAN. . .
Who
killed Michael Vanderhorst’s maker? It’s a darn good question. But when
the trail brings Michael to hellishly sunny Phoenix, Arizona, his
biggest problem soon becomes a cute little librarian he can’t seem to
stay away from. He’s never met a bigger danger magnet! Even her book
cart has it out for her. And is that the drug cartel following her
around, too? “Dear God, woman! What have you gotten yourself into?”
Things go from bad to worse when local vampires won’t play nice.
Can
this four-hundred-year-old vampire keep his librarian safe and himself
out of hot water? Can he bring his maker’s killer to justice? Yesterday,
he would’ve said yes. But yesterday, he didn’t have a strange
connection with a librarian. Yesterday, people weren’t trying to kill
her.
I won a signed copy of The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant Book 5 by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and I was sooo excited. I had already picked up the first book on a free day and loved it, so I dove right in. Fortunately it can be read as a stand alone, so I didn’t have any trouble following along.
I am immediately drawn back into Michael and Miriam’s world, watching the characters grow and change, finding their place in a world not of their own making. When it comes to a sacrifice that may free her from the life of a vampire, will Miriam take it? No choice is easy. There are always consequences.
OMG… I loved the book, but as I read the last chapter, I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes. This is not in anyway a vampire romance you have read before. Five stars for love, hope, laughter and sweet sweet Stella. I will sorely miss these characters, now that the story has been told and the series is done.
Humans can live without us, but we cannot live without them. And that is why they must always be protected, for better or worse, they are the species that make this world what it is.

NEVER HIRE A HANDSOME VAMPIRE!
MIRIAM MURPHY loves being a librarian. It’s all she’s ever wanted—to eat, breathe, and sleep books. But when she hired Michael, a handsome college student, she had no idea he was a four-hundred-year-old vampire and that inviting him into her life would result in her becoming one too. But not before he knocked her up and broke her heart.
Now Miriam is a single mother, all alone in a new world with a new vampire body. And someone’s trying to kill her. Who? Why? She has no real enemies.
If only Michael would help. After all, he’s the vampire king now. And this is one mystery she can’t solve on her own.
NEVER FALL FOR A LIBRARIAN!
MICHAEL VANDERHORST knows he’s changed. He can no longer love or laugh or enjoy hot peppers like he used to. But being an unfeeling, ruthless vampire is what it takes to rule the deadliest bloodsuckers on the planet. It’s the only way to keep humankind safe.
Problem is, his enemies know the librarian and his daughter are special to him. They are his to protect, even if he’s incapable of feeling love.
But when danger comes knocking at Miriam’s library door, he must choose between solving the biggest mystery of his existence and the woman he swore to protect.
“I am a Vampire Man! Vampire on the inside. Man on the outside. NOM NOM NOM

The cover for Bad Fairy Strikes Again by Elaine Kaye is so darn cute how could I possibly resist reading about Thistle Greenbud. I was amazed that an author I love so much, Abigail Owen, created the cover.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Elaine Kaye is the author of A Gregory Green Adventure series. She first created Gregory Green after her son, who loved her homemade pea soup, thus inspiring the story Pea Soup Disaster. Bad Fairy is her middle grade debut and the first of A Bad Fairy Adventure series.
Kaye has worked as a

State. She currently lives in Florida, but she has called Michigan; Honolulu,
Hawaii; and Okinawa, Japan home. She is a grandmother of three boys.
“Prepare Cautious Cat, for I am the storm you”ve feared. I am Mayhem.”
“There’s only one way to learn the truth. The question is, how far will you go to find the answers you seek?”
I waited…looking at the cover every time I opened my Kindle…to let the anticipation build. Mr Mayhem is a fascinating villain and I am enamored by him. He is definitely one of my favorite villains.
The murder of crows, spotlighting Poe, Edgar and Allen dog her footsteps, giving her ‘gifts’ that are clues from Mr Mayhem. It is up to her to decipher their meaning. Each of the crows have a distinct personality, at times seeming almost human. Does Poe have his own agenda? He really, really hates her.
Sue wasted no time getting to it, in a gruesome way. A crow. A GPS destination. A bloody nose in a giveaway box. Surprise…
At 6% I am already tied in knots, breathing a sigh of relief when…well…I can’t tell you. But that is only a respite, because there is so much more to come.
My biggest problem writing this review, is giving away no secrets, especially if you want to go back to the beginning and read the entire series. The suspense, the addition of Indian mythicism and culture, the crows, and Shawnee operating on her own, make for a thrilling read.
Sue puts a lot of research into her work and it shows in her writing. I am fascinated.
At one point, Sue Coletta brought to mind my love of rising early, and with a cup of coffee, sitting on the patio, listening to the world come alive. The birds sing, flitting through the tree branches. Listen closely and you can spot them…And Shawnee will need all her powers of observation to survive.
What do a cop, a serial killer and a Shaman have in common? The need to defeat a common foe.
Brace yourself before reading, because the depth and detail that Sue Coletta takes to show us Mayhem’s game and why he does what he does, may surprise you. He sure did me, but now I understand why he is so interested in her and why he doesn’t just kill her outright. Shawnee will be taken to a place she never could have seen coming and the results will be life or death.

Oh yeah. A new series , River’s End Rescues, by Jane Blythe. I eagerly anticipate meeting new ‘people’ and watching how their lives grow and change through the danger and suspense Jane Blythe creates in her romantic suspense novels.
Looking at the cover, I thought this may be a bit on the tame side, but I should never have second guessed Jane Blythe. I immediately connected to Meadow, a woman on the run…
She had just enough money to get her to River’s End.
From the moment Abe Black, the sheriff of River’s End, saw her at the diner, he became her protector. Seeing this is a romantic suspense novel, I don’t think it will stay that way. LOL
Abe had grown up in River’s End, and after the war in Afghanistan, he came home to the peace and quiet of the small town of River’s End. He became the sheriff and settled on his own plot of land. He determined it was his lot in life, to maintain a peaceful place for those to come.
I love stories that take place in small towns, a damsel in distress, and a hunkaclicious man who will save her. We quickly meet the characters that live there and they appear as if they could be our own neighbors and friends.
Abe made Meadow an offer…to stay with him until she got on her feet. It felt safe to her. It felt right, and she wondered….
She was running…from a psychopathic husband that wants what belongs to him and will stop at nothing to get IT back.
Jane Blythe has the ability to create characters and worlds that quickly draw me in, never letting me go. I loved that she found a way to write romantic suspense without the woman making some boner move that has her walking into danger. I know it’s hard to come up with new ways to create danger and suspense in the last half of the book without the woman looking like a dumbass and making a stupid move, running straight into trouble, but Jane Blythe did a bang up job of doing just that.
I highly recommend Jane Blythe’s work and can hardly wait to see what she comes up with for the next book in the River’s End Rescues series.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Some Regrets Are Forever by Jane Blythe.
GOODREADS BLURB
She will bring sunshine to his life … if he can keep her alive.
All Meadow Smith has ever wanted was to belong. Unfortunately her desire to find her place in the world led to a decision she regrets but can never take back. Now she’s on the run and has to decide if she can put her trust in another man or if she’s safer if she keeps moving. Problem is you can’t run from your problems forever.
Abe Black served his country and now he serves the people of River’s End as Sheriff of the quaint small town. As soon as he spots Meadow he knows she’s in trouble, he wants to help just like he wants to give in to his growing feelings for the sweet woman but he’s been burned before. Can he settle for just trying to keep her alive and then walk away?
