Sunday Post #431 August

Hello fellow bloggers. Another week has passed and they all seem to blend together. I see where I actually posted two of the same Books From The Backlog posts. I guess that shows where my head is. Still trying to get back in the groove and my blogging ahead has run out. This week I did minimal blogging and reading. I hope I can shake myself out of this funk soon. How about you? Did you have a good week? Did you watch the Presidential debate. LOL I received my ballot and have already sent it back. I have voted. Have you?

Hope you have a good week and I’ll be seeing you soon.

Sunday Post #431 August

Good Morning…In the last weeks, Mr Wonderful was on vacation, then Hurricane Sally dropped in for a prolonged visit, so he was off another week. It was a good thing, because we were without power for five days and there was a ton of clean up. Thanks goodness the damage was only outside and an insurance adjuster will be around today to assess the damage. I will be sharing a Hurricane Sally post as soon as I can get my act together. I hope everyone on the Gulf Coast made it out unscathed.

Sometimes I wonder if the end is near…Covid, fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, protests, uncontrolled police force…I fear, here in the US, it is going to get much worse, before it gets better, considering the nasty political climate and the upcoming election.

Oh, to be an ostrich, burying my head in the sand…or wherever I can find a place to hide.

That being said, I hope you had the best week possible and wish you another good week.

Sunday Post #431 August

Hey you. I am always happy to share what’s been going on here at fundinmental, but I am sitting here watching College Game Day (as the talking heads are coming to us from their Covid bubble), knowing it is Labor Day weekend and the tourists are heading my way, thinking WTF! Has everyone lost their freaking minds?

I have a passion for football, college and pro alike. I would spend every Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday glued to my TV when games were being played. Every Saturday started out with College Game Day. Though I will miss watching, I think they will end up canceling the sports season until 2021, and I feel it never should have been attempted to begin with.

And the protests about social injustice….I don’t even have any words to tell you how disgusted I am. All our country’s flaws are being revealed for everyone to see, and that is a good thing. Just like an apocalypse, all the good and bad come out, and for those who are standing up, I applaud you and thank you.

I am sure, here in Florida, the beaches will be packed and…I don’t even know what to say any more. I remember SARS and Ebola and they never got to be this bad. What was done different? Leadership!!!

PLEASE everyone in the US! Make sure you are registered to vote…and vote in every election, from local to national, and let your voice be heard.

Isolation is getting to me. Even though I am retired and not a lot in my life has changed for me personally, I still feel…lost. I have tears in my eyes as I type this. If I have offended anyone, that was not my intent. I just feel by staying silent, I am part of the problem.

All that being said, I hope you are safe and having the best week possible.

Sunday Post #431 August

Hello Everybody. Hope you had a good week and all is well in your world. It has been cloudy, a bit rainy with periods of sunshine. Well, Friday I went out into the big bad world and I did not like it. It was a big waste of time. I checked the doctor’s office hours, because I did a televisit with my doctor, but am required to physically pick up the prescription. I got there just after twelve and no one was there. SO, Mr Wonderful and I went to the bank, slowly, and came back, slowly, trying to use up time. Oh, and guess what, the doctor’s office closes at noon!!!!!!

I hope you all have a good week and please stay safe, wear a mask.

Sunday Post #431 August

Hello Everybody. Hope you had a good week and all is well in your world. It has been cloudy, a bit rainy with periods of sunshine, and….what the hell. I don’t remember it being almost a hundred degrees for weeks and so many clouds and days of rain. Sure we would have the afternoon thunderstorm because of the heat and humidity here in Florida, but day after day of gloom. Where did the sun go???????????? I need it.

Anyway…everything is going, the normal. I have not left the house in several weeks now and I feel the need to get out and do something, even if it is just a car ride out to the beach. How about you? Are you getting cabin fever?

I hope you all have a good week and please stay safe, wear a mask.

LATEST HAPPENINGS

Hello everyone. Here it is, another week gone by and its been the same as the week before. I have been doing some work in the yard, but the heat that I love so much has become my enemy in my ‘golden years’. I seem to overheat easily…and it’s only 90 outside. LOL Do you remember those days, when you could hang on the beach, drink all day, and continue the party inside? Well, I do and it amazes me in hindsight. I still love the heat, I just need to be floating in the pool to appreciate it as much as I used to. 🙂

Hope you had a good week and another comes your way. Take care and stay safe.

LATEST HAPPENINGS

Well, it has been a while since I’ve done a Sunday post and I am happy to be back, sharing what I’ve been up to, and seeing how you are making out. I have been in isolation since mid March…oh man, for 20 weeks now. I won’t go into a lot of detail, but Mr Wonderful and I are older and high risk….and…live in Florida. Mr Wonderful does the marketing and pharmacy runs. He feels he can stay safe, and he now shop within the city limits, because they have made a mandatory mask rule. Most seem to be following it, but outside the city limits, in the county, it’s still a free for all. We have done some curbside pickup for the pool, thank God we have one, and medical marijuana. We have played some golf and done some surf fishing. It’s pretty easy to social distance in those situations. I am hunkered down for the long haul and I hope you are well and staying safe.

LATEST HAPPENINGS

Hello fellow bloggers. How are you today?

It’s been a good week, even with a tropical storm going through. We had a couple inches of rain and the wind knocked off those pesky loose and dead branches. That’s probably the biggest danger we faced…getting hit by a branch. Sometimes I find them stabbed into the ground and I would hate for it to stab into me. 🙂 Now, the sun is shining intensely and it’s in the 80’s. Bring it on. Summer is my favorite season.

We had to put Phoenix away because the high wind wanted to take it awayyyyyyyyy.

And…the Phoenix rises to live another day in our little bit of paradise.

I hope everyone is staying safe and doing well.

LATEST HAPPENINGS

Hello fellow bloggers. How are you today? It’s been a long time since I’ve done a Sunday post. I’m not sure why I have chosen now, when I am least motivated to blog, but here I am. Maybe it’s because I want things to seem normal. I am retired and a homebody, so things didn’t change for me a lot, other than Mr Wonderful being home all the time. I am so happy that we still get along so well, you know, being together 24/7. I had worried how we would get along when he retires and now now we know. We’ll be just fine.

It seems our world has gone to hell and we are being led down a frightening path. I have been isolated for 11 weeks now, since March 13th, and have only been out a few times. Once we drove to the beach and a couple of times we have played golf. I don’t understand these people that run around without masks, traffic is crazy, and people are acting like things are the same as the old days. Am I the only one that is worried?

For the first time, it has hit closer to home. Our uncle’s girlfriend has tested positive for Covid-19. They live in a golf community in Georgia. She is quarantined and our uncle is staying at a hotel. So far, she is doing fine and he is negatiive.

I have been reading a lot, but I won’t be reviewing all the books I’ve read. I will be rating them on Goodreads though. I joined Kindle Unlimited for the two free months they were offering. I am enjoying it, but I won’t be renewing it.

I hope everyone is staying safe and doing well.
