Sherry’s Shelves 1.8 – 1.14.23

Hi Everyone.

Well, I am late getting this up, but I was sitting here watching the Buffalo Bills and thought, what the heck. Get with it, Sherry. lol It’s chilly but sunny and my allergies have been playing havoc. One minute things are blooming, the next they are dying. Crazy weather, but I foresee those 70 and 80 degrees days coming very soon. We are having issues with our pool pump, so I will be getting on that right away. I haven’t run the pool in over a month and I cannot believe it isn’t green. I am sure I will have to add a lot of chemicals, but my power bill is loving it. lol

Sherry’s Shelves 12.25 – 12.31.22

Happy Holidays Everyone. I missed some posts last week and wasn’t around. I spent Christmas in my bedroom, isolated. Covid caught me. Luckily, I hopped right on it and my doctor called in a prescription for the new medication recommended for us older people. It kicked Covid’s butt….that and all the shots we have kept up on. I am pretty much back to normal. Mr Wonderful took excellent care of me! That being said, I am working diligently to break the habit of touching my face and eyes. I won’t go anywhere without hand sanitizer. Now, I am working to catch up on my blogging and hope to be visiting some blogs this week. Wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year.

Hi Everyone. Christmas is rapidly approaching and I am not ready for the year to be over. Time seems to faster and faster every year. We went to the beach to take photographs for our Christmas card.

We always have to stop by for a photo op at the spaceship house. Look closely in the window and you will see a pirate flag. It matches our shirts. LOL

Hi Everyone. My allergies have been playing havoc with me for the past two weeks. This is the worst case I have had yet. Almost, makes me want to move….somewhere.

I did buck up and go to the Fair. I paid for it the next day. I knew I should have worn a mask.

Sherry’s Shelves – 9.4 – 9.10.22

Hi Everyone. I had a good week. We did some yardwork and I am happy the way it turned out. We’ll get a few more bags at our next hardware store stop. I plan on going further to the left, but, for now, my goal was getting rid of the prickly vines and plants around the faucet and electrical outlet.

It took us three days and some pool time to do the yardwork. It’s still pretty hot and we don’t overwork ourselves any more. That is one of the benefits of being retired. We have all day every day…But things are so much harder to do. Thank goodness for an easy cool down.

We made a trip to the beach for the Blue Angels practice.

All these days outside have set my allergies off, so today will be all about football.

Sherry’s Shelves – 8.28 – 9.3.22

Hi Everyone. YAY! Chase Elliot finished fourth last week and we got free fried pickles from Hooters.

Mr Wonder spent almost a week cleaning and painting our patio. I LOVE IT! I still have a few chairs to clean up and some stuff to put away, but it’s looking good. The concrete gets sooo hot when the sun beats down on it, so I’m hoping the light color helps. We used to have a gazebo, but with all the wind I felt that was a losing battle. We were lucky if they lasted a year. So, we have this great umbrella…for now.

And a pizza for a job well done.

Sherry’s Shelves 8.7 – 8.13.22

Hi Everyone.Mr Wonderful cleaned the patio and ‘greenworks’ cleaner is AMAZING! It would usually take all day just to do the one part that was painted red, but now most of the color has been washed off. I want to do something, but not sure what so it can wait. Also, maybe prices will come down by the next year or so. Trying to do anything is too expensive for me at this time, unless it is a have to.

Well done Mr Wonderful!. We have had a lot of rain so everything is super green. I quit putting bug killer on my yard (and the moles love it) for this year and I have never seen so many lizards and frogs. Some nights I even get a serenade by the little buggers. I love it, though. I do put poison on the fire ants, though. They pop up all over the place, especially after the rain, so we spot treat them.

Now, I just need to put the patio back together. Anyone up for a barbecue?
