Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
Grab your current read
Open to a random page.
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
SILVER BORNE by Patricia Briggs
A Mercy Thompson Novel
I picked up this first edition hardcover at my local grocery store.
I can hardly believe it was marked down to $2.00. YAY!
It’s a Christmas miracle, because I don’t grocery shop. 😀
MY TEASE
Come, Snowball.”
He opened a single white eye and stared at me.
I swallowed. Arguing with dominant wolves could have unpleasant results.
“I will watch the puppy,” declared Maia. “We can play cowgirls and I will teach him to fetch. We shall have a tea party.” She wrinkled her nose. “And then he won’t get all dirty playing with the greasy cars. He doesn’t like being dirty.
SYNOPSIS
Being a mechanic is hard work. Mercy Thompson, for instance, just spent the last couple of months trying to evade the murderous queen of the local vampire seethe. And now the leader of the werewolf pack, who’s maybe-more-than-just-a-friend, has asked for her help. A book of fae secrets has come to light and they’re all about to find out how implacable – and dangerous – the fae can be.
OK, so maybe her troubles have nothing to do with the job. But she sure could use a holiday…
(page 69 of hardcover)
I’m sure the wolf wants to play cowgirls. LOL
Great deal you got for this one!
I know. It was funny, because I was in the grocery store. I can probably count on one hand the number of times I have been in one in six months. LOL I got six books, and I will be telling you guys about them. 🙂
Not my usual read, but it does grab me…and it piques my curiosity. Thanks for sharing…and here’s mine: “A FIREPROOF HOME FOR THE BRIDE”
Sometimes ya just don’t know. LOL
I really enjoy this series. You got a real deal to get a hardcover for only $2. Happy reading!
Thanks, Kathy. I definitely want to read more. 🙂
I’ve never been able to get into books about the Fae or werewolves, but this sounds like a good one. Maybe I should try it.
My Tuesday post features FAT CHANCE.
I am a huge mystery, suspense and thriller fan, with some horror on the side, along with creatures (like megladons and sharks). I really didn’t read all this paranormal and urban fantasy until I started blogging. If they are written well, like a lot of the ones I have read are, I get so into them I almost forget they are fiction. I have always loved to read because I really do get lost in a good book. LOL
I was laughing out loud as I read this. Great teaser and thanks for stopping by.
Here’s My Teaser
Isn’t it, though? The writing is fantastic and there was more than one phrase that had me laughing out loud. Nice to see ya.
I’ve heard this series is amazeballs but haven’t read anything from her or it… yet!
I’ve been wanting to read this series for a while. It looks great.
I’ll be doing a review, but it probably won’t be until after the holidays. I do recommend the book and want to read more of her work!
The book cover is awesome; I’m loving the tattoo, and I’ve actually read a lot of positive reviews about this series! Great teaser! 🙂
Thanks for sharing the info, Claudia. Glad you enjoyed the teaser. Have a great weekend.
Thanks for sharing the Patricia Briggs teaser. I started reading this series but for some reason I never continued. Your teaser certainly made me want to pick it up again!
I would recommend giving it another try. What can it hurt? Sometimes a book will surprise you if you give it a little more time, but also….. 🙂
This is one of my favorite series and that’s saying something because this genre is not usually my favorite! Love Mercy! What a deal you got on this one! I’m never that lucky. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my TT the other day!
I have stretched my genres to include some I never would have read before blogging. I still have some that are too much for me, but I also have learned to open my eyes and take a chance. Once in a while you can be very surprised at what you will find.
